Discover Baltistan
In no other part of the world is there such a large number of high mountains in such a confined space as in Baltistan. Skardu is the capital town of Baltistan, the valley have widened and large sandy banks.
Massive mountains dominate you view in all directions. With it's rolling sand dunes and Barren Mountain the area around Skardu looks like Tibet and is often referred to as "Little Tibet".
Apart from its incomparable cluster of mountain peaks and glacier, Baltistan's five valleys Shiger-Khapolu, Rondu and Kharmang are notable for their juicy fruits and breath taking views. Satpara Lake, with its beautiful deep water and Deosai Plateau, which for a few months covered, in beautiful wild flowers offer some panoramic views to the visitors.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arive at Islamabad Airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Drive Islamabad / Peshawar, Afternoon visiting of old city. Overnight Peshawar.
Day 3: Drive Peshawar / Saidu Sharif, Swat valley (approx. 4 hours). Overnight Saidu Sharif.
Day 4: Drive Swat / Chilas crossing the Shangla Pass (2,1135). Overnight Chilas.
Day 5 Drive Chilas / Skardu (9 hours). Overnight Skardu.
Day 6: Drive Skardu / Khapulu via Shigar Valley (6 hrs driving). Overnight Khapulu.
Day 7: Day excursion to Hushe. Return to overnight in Skardu (7 hours driving).
Day 8: Fly Skardu / Islamabad. Sightseeing Islamabad. Overnight Islamabad.
Day 9: Day excursion to Taxila and Rawalpindi. And then transfer to airport for flight.
