You will visit the cities of Vancouver and Victoria, then cross British Columbia by train to the Canadian Rockies, where you will spend three days in Banff National Park. You will enjoy a guided tour up the Icefields Parkway and explore the mountain village of Banff.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver – Upon arrival you will transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Your Exclusive Documentation Package will be waiting for you at the front desk when you check in.
Day 2: Vancouver Exploring
Vancouver Exploring – This morning you will be taken on a 4.5 hour city tour of Vancouver. You will see Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, English Bay, and Granville Island. Admission to Lookout has been included on the tour, providing a bird’s eye view of Vancouver.
Day 3: Day Tour to Victoria
Day Tour to Victoria – Take a full day trip to Victoria today. The tour bus will pick you up at your hotel and take you onto the BC Ferry to Swartz Bay. You will have a brief city tour and then have time to explore on your own. Admission to Butchart Garden is included. Return to Vancouver in the early evening.
Day 4: Vancouver to Kamloops by Rail
Vancouver to Kamloops – Early today, you will transfer from your hotel to the train station. For the next two days, you will travel on the “Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World” aboard Rocky Mountaineer Railtours. The trip will take you through the fertile fields of the Fraser Valley, then up the rugged Fraser Canyon; you will follow the arid beauty along the Thompson river. Your rail journey ends today in Kamloops, where you will transfer to a hotel. (The train company will make Hotel selection).
Day 5: Kamloops to Banff
By Rail, Kamloops to Banff – Early morning you will depart for your second day aboard “Rocky Mountaineer Railtours”. You will pass the Shuswap Lakes area, Revelstoke and then on to Roger’s Pass and Glacier National Park. As you near the Alberta border, you will enter the Spiral Tunnels that climb through Cathedral Mountain and Mount Ogden. Your journey ends today in Banff.
Day 6: Banff Touring
Banff Touring – Included in today’s activities is a sightseeing tour up the scenic Icefields Parkway, where you will see a multitude of beautiful sights. An optional “Snowcoach” ride is available onto the Athabasca Glacier.
Day 7: Banff to Calgary
Overnight Calgary:Banff to Calgary – Enjoy a leisurely day in Banff. Optional activities include riding the gondola up Sulphur Mountain, trail riding, golfing, and shopping. This afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel and transfer by coach from Banff to Calgary.
Day 8: Tour ends in Calgary
