This West Coast adventure will take you from one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Vancouver, to the famous mountain village of Whistler – official site for Alpine and Nordic events of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. With its dramatic location seemingly suspended between the rugged Coastal Mountains and the waters of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver is a modern, multicultural metropolis. Whistler village is nestled in those mountains at an elevation of 1.530m, and offers a plethora of outdoor activities as well as a pedestrian-only village reminiscent of European plaza culture, all this in an ideal West Coast climate.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Vancouver, BC
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport. Following the tips and directions in your personalized travel journal, drive to your downtown hotel. It’s only a short stroll to the Harbour Center Tower where on a clear day views from the observatory are nothing short of breathtaking. Perhaps this afternoon you will opt for a Trolley Tour allowing you to hop on and off at leisure, shopping along Vancouver’s “Rodeo Drive” or savor the atmosphere in one of the city’s numerous cafes. Your drive to Whistler is one of the most scenic in Canada! The Sea to Sky Highway hugs the Coastal Mountains while the granite cliffs plunge into the blue ocean waters of Howe Sound below. Countless islands make for a natural obstacle course in this extension of the Pacific Ocean, where sailboats and windsurfers enjoy the quasi-constant breezes and eagles soar overhead spotting their next meal. This 120 kilometer (75 miles) drive can be stretched out all day, see the TidBits section of your travel journal for ideas of what to do along the way. Accommodation: Sundial Boutique Hotel (Deluxe Hotel Option), Four Seasons Resort Hotel (Premium Hotel Option);

Accommodation: Sundial Boutique Hotel (Deluxe Hotel Option), Four Seasons Resort Hotel (Premium Hotel Option);

Whistler is the starting point for your next local experience of choice. Perhaps you will choose to go trekking in lush alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers of yellow, red and purple.
