This area is as busy and commercialized as the Annapurna range. The culture of Sherpa people and their practice of Buddhism are impressive. The Everest Base camp elevation is about (5,034 m). It is not possible to see the Mt. Everest from the base camp Kalapatthar.

Black rock, with its elevation of (5,545 m) should be climbed to see the view of Mt. Everest. There will be a possibility of altitude sickness, while heading up to the mountains. If so, the only best and wise way to do is coming down immediately. Another possibility is starting the trek from Jiri, approximately 8 till 9 hours from Kathmandu. This takes seven days extra.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Full day sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley.

Day 3: Fly out from Kathmandu and to Lukla (2,780 m) and camp at Phakding (2,300 m).

Day 4: Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,446 m). Trek continues to Namche Bazaar this is the administrative headquarter, and now it has become a very commercialized area.

Day 5: Acclimatization day. Visit Buddhist monastery, museum and the surroundings.

Day 6: Namche Bazaar - Tyangboche (3,867 m). After 3 to 4 hours trek, one may have another excellent opportunity to beet Tyangboche Monastery. It was completely destroyed by fire in 1988 and now it has been reconstructed. The magnificent views of Mt. Kwangde (8,187 m), Thamanche (6,542 m), Ama-Dablam (6,856 m) and Everest (8,848 m). The Nuptse, Lhotse and Thamsherku are also visible.

Day 7: Tyangboche - Pheriche (4,240 m). Along the forest, the trail is teemed with birds like Blood Pheasants, Danfe (Nepal's National Bird), Monal. Pheriche is very windy and cold place. So it is very important to bring warm clothes with you.

Day 8: Pheriche - Lobuche (4,880 m). This area is much more expensive. In compare at Namche, the prices are twice as much. Lodges, hotels and teashops are available along the route.

Day 9: Lobuche - Kalapatthar (5,545 m) - Gorakshep. At Kala Patthar (Black Rock) you have an excellent view of the Mt. Everest (8848 m).

Day 10: Explore Everest base camp. Back to Gorakshep.

Day 11: Lobuche - Pangboche (3,901 m). Trail descends to Pangboche, which is easier to come down.

Day 12: Pangboche - Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar - Lukla.

Day 14: Lukla - Kathmandu by flight.

Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Fly back home. End of the service.
