Langtang is situated north of Kathmandu and the ethnic group, known as Tamangs mostly populated this area. The culture, language and their customs are much similar to the Tibetans. The views of snowy mountain peaks, like the Langtang Lirung (7,246 m). Gangchenpo (5,846 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m) are excellent.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Kathmandu - Dhunche (1,950 m). The scene of Mt. Annapurna II, Manasalu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks are visible from Kakani (along the route).

Day 2: Dhunche - Syabru (2,110 m). Taking a short cut, the trail leads down to a deep valley and after that you have to climb up to Bamboo forests.

Day 3: Syabru - Lama hotel (2,880 m). It is a very special experience to see wild life in the forests, such as red Pandas, Wild Bears, Langur monkeys, Himalayan Black Bears etc.

Day 4: Lama Hotel - Langtang village (3,107 m). The route follows Gumanechok, Ghoda Tabela (3,000 m) to Langtang (3,500 m) which is the Headquarter of the Langtang National Park. Camp lodges, Hotels and many Teashops are available along the route.

Day 5: Langtang - Kyanjin Gompa (3,800 m). It would be a shorter route, but enough for acclimatisation. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Cheese factory. It runs with technical assistance from a Swiss association since 1955 till nowadays.

Day 6: Acclimatisation day at Kyanjin Gompa. Hiking up to the glacier north of Kyanjing Gompa at an elevation of (3,900 m) to get a spectacular view of the Kyanjing Ri (4,779 m), Langtang Liring and other major glaciers in this area. Besides, Yala peak (5,550 m), Langshisa Ri (6,810 m), Ganchenpo (6,888 m) and the Tsergo peak (5,749 m) are also visible.

Day 9: Syabru - Sing Gompa. There are two alternative routes to Goshaikund starting at Syabru. This one is commonly considered as a normal route also as a popular one.

Day 10: Sing Gompa - Goshaikund (4,300 m). This route includes Laurebinayak at (3,930 m), Saraswati Kund and Bhairab Kund, which are the most attractive on this trek.

Day 11: Goshaikund - Ghopte (3,480 m). The trail leads to northern part of Goshaidkund and there seems a challenge of crossing the Laurebinayak pass (4,600 m). After 4 till 5 hours of trek will arrive at Ghopte for camping.

Day 12: Ghopte - Kutumsang (2,470 m). Except ascending to Tharepati an elevation to (3,400 m) the rest of the trail will descend. Sufficient hotels, lodges and temporary tea-house are available on the route. Day 13: Kutumsang - Chisapani (2,200 m). Instead of coming down to Kathmandu one can extend the itinerary to enjoy another spectacular view from Chisapani.

Day 14: Chisapani - Nagarkot (2,200 m). Nagarkot is the most beautiful spot to watch sunrise and sunset view.
