The cycladic complex of islands, is the most representative of the archetypical Greek style. Fishing villages with white houses and narrow streets, hundreds of chapels, rocky landscape contrasting with the deep blue sea and bays with sandy beaches. The aim of the tour is to take you to the best spots as well as to the interior of the islands where you will discover the culture and habits of the islanders.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer from your hotel to the yacht. After a short briefing we leave the port of Pireaus or Lavrio and we sail to Kea. Befoere we arrive in Kea we stop for a refreshing swimming and then we head to Vourkari the most popular spot of the island. An easy optional hiking for about 2 hours can take us up in the picturesque village of Kea – Ioulis- Stroll around the narrow, winding streets of he village and in the evening we head back to the port by bus. We can have dinner at Vourkari along the water front.
Day 2: After breakfast we head to Paros. We start from Parikia-the capital of Paros-walking along the coast and visit the Agricultural Union of Paros, where we will be guided thru the processing facilities of the main products of the island (oil, wine, dairy products). Visit the wine cellars and get a chance to taste varieties of local wine. View an interesting documentary about the islands history in general and about wine cultivation and wine production.
Afterwards we head thru the countryside, an easy walk towards Kamares -Alkioni- which is the centre for the preservation of wild birds. The ecological team responsible for the centre will brief us of the previous works and achievements in curing and releasing wounded wild birds. Following we will be able to watch some of the protected species in areas accessible to the public. Proceed our walking experience towards the beach of Kolimpmithres, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Paros. We end up in Naussa, a picturesque fishing village with a Venetian fortress sunk in the water.We take the bus back to Parikia.
Another optional eeasy trekking route is the Byzantine path. We start from Prodromos, a little unspoilt village. We hike along the Byzantine path -mostly paved- to Lefkas, the medieval capital of Paros,which is the most picturesque and quaint village of the island, kept as a settlement in its traditional form. Abt 90 minutes hike. Before we start the mountain trail, we will stroll in this historical village wandering the narrow alleys with its bright white houses. Have a drink at the local square. Our path will bring us by old mountain farmsteads. Splendid view of the surrounding islands of Naxos, Iraklia, Ios. The end of trail will take us to the White Village, a small settlement of the south-eastern of Paros. A short rest and a refreshing swim at the sea. Take the bus back to Paros.
Day 3: After breakfast, we sail to Mykonos. On the way we stop to swim and then we head to the port of Mykonos.Then we take a small boat to Panormou bay, with its outstanding beach. We walk from Panormou bay all the way to the Hora. In the afternoon optional visit of the Hora: The Church of Panagia Paraportiani, the Windmill, cultural museum and the Archaeological museum. Dinner in a tavern in Little Venice.
Day 4: After breakfast, we head to the island of DELOS and spend 3 hrs visiting the ruins and monuments, once the most sacred and important sites in the Mediterranean. Swimming and lunch Sail to Naxos.
Day 5: Naxos -the biggest and most fertilem island of the Cyclades. We walk through the old town of Naxos, including visit to the site of the Apollon temple, overlooking the harbour. In the morning start a full day walking trip of Naxos. Takethe bus to the small village of Apirathnos. Visit the village and then proceed to ascent to the island's third highest village, Fanari, (883 m)-the highest mountain is Mt. Zas with its peak at 1004 m. On top is the church Fanariotissa. Binoculars are recommended to bring along ,to enjoy a better view. Ascending to the villages of Moni. Moni is built on a slope at the northernmost tip of Tragaia and enjoys a nice view over the village-dotted verdant plateau. Visit the small Byzantine church of Drossiani of the 6th century with unusual architecture. Drossiani keeps the village busy with visitors - each group upon arrival ring the church bell! Lunch in a small tavern. Walk on the path down into the olive grooves leading to Chalki. Take the bus back to the town.
Day 6: After breakfast we sail to Santorini. In the afternoon we visit the town.of Fira overlooking the volcano. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 7: In the morning we shuttle to the ruins of the Minoan town of Akrotiri, discovered in the 1960s. Visit this famed archaeological site and return to town.
Day 8: In the morning and after breakfast take the high speed back to Pireaus Transfer to your hotel.
