This 5 day tour combines the unspoilt beauty of the New Forest, the coastal road through Dorset, Devon and the remote hills of Dartmoor. The tour route then returns through the Regency town of Bath.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: 12.30 pm: after a full briefing on how to get the most out of your car, take the road south out of London towards Guildford. Follow the road that takes you over the Devils Punchbowl to Petersfield and then drive cross country to Winchester. At the end of the day take the road to the New Forest where after driving through the small roads and lanes around Brockenhurst arrive at your hotel. Overnight and dinner at the New Park Manor Hotel. (D).
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel and then take the road past Bournemouth to the small town of Blandford Forum and then over Yellowham Hill to Dorchester, the town made famous by the poet Thomas Hardy. In the afternoon take the road to Devon, which takes you through Lyme Regis and Budleigh Salterton and into Exeter. From here turn south and follow the signs to Torquay and your hotel. Overnight and dinner at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay. (B/D).
Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel and then follow the signs through Buckfast Abbey and follow narrow country roads that will take you to Dartmoor National Park, one of the remotest parts of England and then to Okehampton and Great Torrington. In the afternoon head towards the old market town of Barnstaple before following the River Taw to Crediton and Exeter. Overnight and dinner at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay. (B/D).
Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel and take the road past Exeter and follow the main roads to Glastonbury and into the city of Bath. Bath is famous for its Georgian architecture and its hot springs and baths which date back to Roman times. Bath is a great place to walk and there is a lot to see and do. Overnight and Dinner at the Bath Priory Hotel. (B/D).
Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel and then take the road out of Bath to the small town of Chippenham. Then follow the route map which will take you to the lovely old market town of Marlborough with its medieval centre and then to Theale. From here take the main road towards London, this road takes you past Windsor and arrival in central London at around 12.30 pm. (B).
