Tour Itinerary

Day 1: 12.30 pm: after a full briefing on how to get the most out of your car, take the road north out of London towards Cambridge. Take some time to wander through the University grounds before taking the road to Ely with its magnificent Cathedral. At the end of the day follow the road across the Fens to your hotel just outside of Kings Lynn. Overnight and dinner at the Congham Hall Hotel. (D).

Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel and through Kings Lynn to experience the very quiet country lanes close to Holbeach St Mathew. Then follow the road to the City of Lincoln with its tiny cobbled streets. In the afternoon travel west through the Victorian industrial towns of Worksop and Chesterfield and follow the signs to the Peak District. Overnight and dinner at the Palace Hotel, Buxton. (B/D).

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel, Buxton is one of the highest towns in England and people have sought out the spring water since Roman times. From Buxton take the road to Peveril Castle in Castleton and then on to Eyam before arriving at Chatsworth House. Chatsworth is one of the finest country houses in Britain and its well worth a visit. From here follow the wonderful drivers roads to Matlock with its Roman Spa, through the market town of Bakewell and back to Buxton. Overnight and dinner at the Palace Hotel, Buxton. (B/D).

Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel and then south to Uttoxeter with its history of rebellion and social unrest and then south again through the midlands to Warwick Castle. In the afternoon visit Stratford upon Avon with all of its links to William Shakespeare and then our route will take you through tiny villages and small towns such as Broadway, where we suggest you stop for afternoon tea. Then on through Winchcombe and into Cheltenham. Overnight and dinner at the Queens Hotel. (B/D).

Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel and then follow the road to Cirencester which has been a market town since Roman Times. Then follow the route map which will take you to Lechlade, Faringdon and on through the Vale of the White Horse to Wantage and Reading. Then back into central London to arrive at around 12.30 pm.
