Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Pick up from the Bucharest airport. Travel by road along the scenic Prahova valley, through the picturesque mountain resorts of Sinaia (130 km from the airport). We check in at the Florina hotel in Busteni. Optionally we can do a short, bike or walking, tour in surrounding area 4-5 km.
Day 2: After breakfast we check out from the hotel, and take the cable car to the Bucegi plateau. Visit the Romanian Sphinx, and bike up to the Caraiman peak - a breathtaking view. Then a technical downhill to the Ialomita valley 600 meters descend. Visit the Ialomitza Cave, near to hotel.
Day 3: From Pestera Hotel we take the old sheep trail that takes us to the western ridge of Bucegi Mountains. The trail descends then to the wide Strunga saddle, and along the slope into the forest. The final part is a very difficult. Accommodation in Moeciu
Day 4: The day starts with a 5 km uphill to the Fundata pass. Then continue to Sirnea village, and further through a very tight torrent down to the Dambovicioara. The van takes us back to Fundata for a magnificent downhill. Accommodation Moeciu
Day 5: Early in the morning, after breakfast we visit Bran Castle (Dracula's castle) 10km from our accommodation. Onward we reach Brasov – the most important medieval city in the area and one of the most visited cities in Romania. Great sites to visit as The Black Church, the main square, the old defense walls that are still well preserved on the south and west side of the old city the watch towers and the narrowest street in Europe are just a few points on this day’s agenda. Bike up to the Tampa Peak. Another wonderful view over the old city of Brasov. The downhill is a tricky one. Accommodation in pension** Moeciu
Day 6: Bike up to on the Simon Valley. In about 3 hours we reach the Gutanu meadow. Then the fast single trail descends gradually through the woods. Visit the Rasnov Fortress - founded around 1225 by Teutonic Knights. The superb location of this fortress allows us a great view over the surrounding mountains. Accommodation in pension** Moeciu
Day 7: Transfer the bikes to Fundatica village. We start with the old trail that descends 12 km to Pudul Village. Van transfer up to Fundata for a fantastic downhill on a single trail and even off trail. Accommodation in pension** Moeciu
Day 8: Transfer to Bucharest airport. Departure
