Your Itinerary:
Day 1- Otopeni airport in Bucharest - Sinaia – Moeciu
Meet at Bucharest Otopeni airport. Travel along the scenic Prahova valley, through the picturesque mountain resorts of Sinaia and Predeal. Arrive in Bran, old gateway to Transylvania.
Accommodation in Moeciu 8 Km from Bran.
Day 2 - Hiking in Bucegi
This hiking trip will take us through the scenic Batrana saddle, up to the highest chalet in Romania situated at 2507 meters high on the Omu peak. Here we can enjoy the extraordinary landscape. Than we descend to the Pestera Hotel for the night.
Day 3 - The Ialomita Cave
After checking out from Pestera hotel we will visit the Ialomitza Cave. Then our route continues on a old sheep trail up to the ridge until we reach the Strunga saddle. From this point the downhill takes about 2 hours until we get to the forestry road of Moeciu and back to our accommodation.
Day 4 - Hiking over the Magura Branului
The route starts from the famous Bran Castle, ascending pretty steep, untill we get to the soft ridge of Magura Branului. This ridge used to be the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. The view is fantastic... Onward we descend through the remote village Magura, down to the bottom of Zarnesti Gorges.
Van transfer back to our lodge in Moeciu.
Day 5 - Medieval Transylvania
Visit the Rasnov Fortress - founded around 1225 by German Teutonic Knights. The superb location of this fortress allows us a great view over the surrounding mountains. Onward we reach Brasov - the most important medieval city in the area and one of the most visited cities in Romania. Great sites to visit as The Black Church, the main square, the old defense walls that are still well preserved on the south and west side of the old city the watch towers and the narrowest street in Europe are just a few points on this day's agenda. Optionally there is a 2-hour trekking tour to the Tampa peak (the Tampa peak is located in the middle of the city and provides an amazing view over the surrounding area. Day 6 - Hiking in Piatra Craiului Mountains
Travel by car 19 Km to Plaiu Foii hut at the base of Piatra Craiului Mountains. The hiking begins with an easy walk from the hut until we reach the single trail that climbs through the Curmatura valley. In about 2 hours we reach the narrow ridge of Piatra Craiului at over 2200 meters high. The trail continues to south along the ridge. After another 2 or 3 hours we descend from the main ridge arriving late afternoon back to Plaiu Foii hut. Return to Moeciu. Accommodation in pension** Moeciu.
Day 7 - Transfer to the airport
