Romania is located in the southeast of Europe, on the 45 degrees North Parallel, in the northern part of the Balkanic peninsula, inside the Danube river basin opening on the Black Sea. This tour will be through Bucegi National Park, Bran Castle, Brasov, Peles castle.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1 - Otopeni airport in Bucharest - Sinaia (120 km)
Meet at Bucharest Otopeni airport. Travel by road along the scenic Prahova valley, through the picturesque mountain resorts of Sinaia. Accommodation in Marami Hotel in Sinaia.
Day 2 - Visit the Peles Castle
It is considered by many one of the most beautiful castles in all Europe, Peles Castle is a masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture. After lunch 3 hours walk along the Diham valley in Bucegi National Park. In the evening transfer to Moeciu for diner. Moeciu is a small mountain resort, a gate to Bucegi National Park. Day 3 - In the morning visit the Bran Castle
It was built in 1377 as part of the Transylvanian defense system, the castle is a "must see" often refered to as mythical Dracula's castle. In the afternoon walk through the amazing Dambovicioara Canyon, up to the small Dambovicioara cave. Visit the little cave that used to be inhabited by the Cave Bear, and latter people used as hideout from turkish and tartar invasion. Accommodation in Moeciu.
Day 4 - Brasov
Brasov – the most important medieval city in the area and one of the most visited cities in Romania. Great sites to visit as The Black Church, the main square, the old defense walls that are still well preserved on the south and west side of the old city, the watch towers and the narrowest street in Europe are just a few points on this day’s agenda. Walk to the Tampa Peak, right above the old city. The peak offers an unbelievable view over the city and surroundings. Accommodation in Moeciu.
Day 5 – Fundata village
Discover the traditional Romanian village – walk through the mountain village of Fundata. Fundata is the highest village in Romania, typical mountain village with households spread at large distances from one another. Descend to Vladele Meadow for a picnic lunch. We continue passing along many sheepfolds until we arrive back to Moeciu. Accommodation in Moeciu.
Day 6 – Rasnov fortress and Zarnesti Gorge
Walk through the reservation of Zarnesti Gorges. Spectacular gorges in the Piatra Craiului Mountains. In the afternoon visit the Rasnov Fortress - founded around 1225 by German Teutonic Knights. The superb location of this fortress allows us a great view over the surrounding mountains. Accommodation in Moeciu.
Day 7 - Departure
Transfer to Airport in Bucharest
