Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Thursday - Depart to Egypt today.
Day 2: Friday - Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted through customs and formalities, then transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Saturday - Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the world's largest collection of artifacts from the era of the pharaohs including some belonging to King Tut. Tour Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit sites like the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Moallaka Church, where the Virgin Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus took refuge. After lunch, drive to the Islamic quarter to visit the Great Citadel and visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the "Alabaster Mosque". Enjoy a walking tour of the colorful Khan El Khalili Bazaar district. Overnight in Cairo. Included: (B), (L).
Day 4: Sunday - Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the defending Sphinx, which have stood for the last 5000 years. Continue to ancient Memphis, the first capital of Upper and Lower Egypt. Also visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. Sound and Light Show available this evening. Overnight in Cairo. Included: (B), (L).
Day 5: Monday - The day is at leisure. Overday excursion to Alexandria available today. Overnight in Cairo. Included: (B).
Day 6: Tuesday - You will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Optional excursion to Abu Simbel available. (Your flight continues to Abu Simbel. Visit the Great Temples of Ramses II. Stand before the colossal statue of the Pharaoh with smaller statues of his wife Nefertari and daughters at his feet. After this visit, fly to Aswan.) Upon arrival at Aswan Airport, you will be transferred to your Deluxe Nile Cruise Boat for a 5-day/4-night Nile cruise. Accommodations aboard will consist of an Outside Junior Suite Cabin with private facilities. Afternoon sail by felucca for an outside visit to the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island. Overnight on board. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Wednesday - Visit the High Dam, Old Dam, Philae Temple, and the Granite Quarries. Sail to Edfu. Overnight on board. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Thursday - Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all the large Egyptian Temples. Sail to Luxor. Overnight on board. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Friday - Cross the Nile to the West Bank. Visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Colossi of Memnon, Queen Hatshepsut Funerary Temple, and the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Sound and Light Show available this evening. Overnight on board. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 10: Saturday - After disembarkation, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight to Sharm El Sheikh. Upon arrival in Sharm El Sheikh, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11: Sunday - The day is at leisure. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12: Monday - The day is at leisure. Excursion to St. Catherine's Monastery available today. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 13: Tuesday - The day is at leisure. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh. Included: (B), (L), (D).
