The White Rim Trail, located in the heart of Canyon lands National Park, is one of the most coveted mountain bike trails in the nation. This classic tour is a must for anyone visiting Utah's canyon country, offering a perfect combination of great riding and spectacular scenery. We ride along the "White Rim" layer of sandstone, with dramatic canyons below and majestic red rock cliffs above.

The trail leads to arches, towers and other fantastic rock formations. Your guides will lead you on bike and on foot to explore the hidden treasures the White Rim offers. Visit an Indian dwelling of ancient times or perhaps trek into a slot canyon disappearing into the desert sandstone. This tour can be combined with white water rafting, kayaking, or canoing. The White Rim Trail can be the trip of a lifetime.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: The White Rim Tour meets at Rim Tours' headquarters located at 1233 South Highway 191 at 8:30 A.M. Look for our sign on the left as you head south out of Moab, about 1.1 miles after McDonald's. You may arrange to be picked you up at your hotel or you may safely leave your car with us.

We will provide a continental breakfast, which includes home baked goods, fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. If you prefer a larger breakfast you may want to dine before you arrive. Two suggestions are The Jail house Cafe or The Slick rock Cafe; both located on Main Street. At our office you may wish to purchase last minute equipment while we fit rental bikes and load your gear onto the support truck.

At approximately 9:15 A.M. we will shuttle to the beginning of the ride, 35 miles away. We will begin at either the Shafer Trail or the Mineral Bottom Trail, depending on which way your group is traveling the White Rim. Included is a simple map detailing the Island in the Sky district of Canyon lands National Park. Your campsites are highlighted along with the direction of travel.

Once camp is set, your work is done! Your guides will take care of all the details from setting up lawn chairs with hors d'oeuvre and the drink cooler nearby, to cooking up a healthy delicious meal. Wash basins are available for clean- up and a solar shower is usually available for 1 or 2 evening during the trip. It's your time to relax, whether it's lounging around camp with our library of books or setting out for a hike to explore your surroundings. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 2-3: We usually are out of camp by 9:00 A.M. and at our next camp by 4:00 P.M. Our days will be spent riding with time for interesting side hikes that may include exploring a slot canyon and Anasazi Indian ruins. The trail features mostly moderate terrain on fun double-track trails. There are a few challenging sections with several short but steep climbs and descents.

Your guides will review the route in detail each morning before departure. Breakfast and dinner will be prepared at the campsites. While on the trail, the guides will prepare a full buffet lunch. Evenings include opportunities for short hikes under the moonlight or relaxing around camp gazing at the countless stars. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: We will reach the end of the trail around mid-afternoon where a Rim Tours vehicle will be waiting to shuttle us back to Moab. We usually arrive between 4:00 - 5:00 P.M. Includes: (B), (L).
