Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, Aug 21: Quebec City, La Malbaie
Meet in Quebec City early this afternoon and transfer by luxury coach for approximately 2 hours along the scenic north shore of the Saint Lawrence. Arrive in the quaint coastal community of La Malbaie, a picturesque town perched on the shores of the river. Check into the historic Fairmont Manoir Richelieu, get settled in your room, take a seat on their panoramic lawn to watch the tide go out, and then enjoy a welcome cocktail on the terrace with a stunning view across the bay. Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant, enjoying the sounds of some local live musicians.
Hotel: Manoir Richelieu.

Day 2, August 22: Tadoussac, St. Lawrence
This morning after breakfast, drive to the village of Tadoussac, standing at the edge of the boreal forest, near the Saguenay Fjord and a stone’s throw from the sea. Visit the Pointe Noire Observation Centre at the mouth of the Saguenay. This magnificently placed spot is an important centre for the Marine Mammals research that is ongoing in the St. Lawrence Estuary. After an enlightening introduction to the local ecology, return to the village for some time to have lunch and explore at your leisure.
Return to the hotel for an inspiring look at WWF Canada's marine conservation efforts in Eastern Canada and then embark on a scenic cruise across the St Lawrence to the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord. This is the area that draws the migratory Minke, Fin, Humpback, the pearl-white Beluga whales as well as the world’s largest mammal, the Blue whale. Some of the most playful inhabitants are the seals that like to perform for their audience.
Return in time for a relaxed lunch at your leisure and then afterwards sit out on the lawn with refreshments for a discussion on the conservation of the fresh-water river system and the migratory patterns of the whales with one of the Biosphere experts and your WWF-Canada host. Return to the hotel for dinner at your leisure.
