Day 1, August 7: Calgary to Lake Louise
Meet in Calgary early this afternoon and transfer by luxury coach for approximately 2 hours into the staggering mountain terrain of the Canadian Rockies. Arrive at the idyllic lakeside setting of Chateau Lake Louise at the edge of the emerald glcial lake, and check into your room. This evening enjoy an orientation discussion over cocktails to acquaint yourselves with the incredible wildlife and ecology you will experience in the next few days. Dinner tonight will be at your leisure.

Day 2, August 8: Lake Louise
This morning after a hearty breakfast, set out with your naturalist guides on one of Alberta's most scenic hiking trails. Walk along the rim of the emerald lake climbing gradually up the mountain to examine the rich variety of flora and fauna along the path. Begin your walk in the ancient forests of Spruce and Fir, ascend to open meadows that offer staggering views of the mountains and lake below and eventualy arrive at the Agnes Tea House, approximately 7km from your starting point. After a lunch stop here, keen walkers can continue on the trail for another few kms to get some more spectacular panoramas while the rest of the group descends to the hotel. This evening enjoy a cocktail as you listen to a presentation elivered on the Park's ecosystems by your WWF-Canada host. This evening enjoy dinner at your leisure.

Day 3, August 9: Lake Louise
After breakfast set out for the stunning walk along the Johnston Canyon, a stunning limestone gorge that offers a scenic trail along the swift-moving river. Arrive at the lower falls where water plunges 10 meters to a deep limestone pot-hole below and continue your climb another 2.5 kms to the higher waterfall. Here the views over the landscape and down the dramatic 30 metre plunge are your reward. Begin your descent to the valley bottom as the trail leaves the creek and widens en route to the Ink Pots, six clear greenish spring-fed pools at the canyon floor. Drive back to the hotel in time to relax and have lunch. This afternoon there is the option to canoe or kayak on the lake, or do another guided walk with our naturalist, or simply relax and enjoy the hotels lush amenities. This evening, enjoy your final dinner in one of the hotel's fine restaurants with the group.

Day 4, August 10: Lake Louise to Calgary
After breakfast, board your luxury transfer back to Calgary Airport and depart on your flight home.
