Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, Thursday: The ship will sail from Yurimaguas dock. Cabin assignments and briefing on board as the ship sails down the Huallaga River. We will have an excursion to a small lake in order to observe the birds and animal of the jungle. Dinner on board.
Day 2, Friday: Early morning bird watching excursion. Then we will have breakfast on board. After that we will visit the first area of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, this area allows no hunting, logging or commercial fishing. Lunch on board. We will sail down river getting into the Maraņon River.
In the afternoon we will have and excursion into Pacaya Samiria National Reserve where we will observe the aquatic life, monkeys and sloths. Dinner on board. We will do an excursion on boat at night in order to see the nocturnal wildlife and listen to their sounds.
Day 3, Saturday: We will appreciate a fabulous dawn early morning, coffee and tea will be available while passengers will observe the spectacular view. We will visit the San Martin village to observe the local people costumes and buy/trend handicrafts. They live within the Reserve.
Later we will have an excursion on boat into the pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Return to the ship we will have lunch in the comfortable dining room and continue our down river trip. We will observe the stars from the observations areas of the ship.
Day 4, Sunday: Early morning we will sail through the junctures of the Maraņon and Ucayali rivers which form the Amazon River. Lunch on board. Arrival in the large town of Iquitos the end of this part of the voyage down in the Amazon.
Passenger may transfer in Iquitos and continue their trip to the Colombia/Brazilian border program. Transfer are not included in cost of cruise, but are available upon request.
