Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Leave Addis Ababa and drive towards Debre Zeit, Modjo and Koka to visit the hippo pools. After this tour proceed to Nazareth for lunch. After lunch continue through the magnificent panoramic view of the countryside to Awash National Park. Dinner and overnight at Kereyu lodge or camp by the bank of the river.
Day 2: After an early breakfast game view drive in the National Park to see game animals including oryx, greater and lesser Kudus, water bucks, warthogs and various species of beautiful birds. Then visit the hot springs some 30 kms away and the spectacular Awash falls and the deep rugged gorges below. Then return to camp or the lodge for dinner and overnight after some game drive.
Day 3: After breakfast the next morning drive back to the main road to proceed towards Harar. Lunch en route. Reach Harar late in the afternoon. After an hour's rest at your hotel drive up to town to visit the famed hyena man and see these grotesque animals being fed by hand. Return to your hotel.
Day 4: Morning sight-seeing of Harar-a 16th century walled city. After lunch drive to Dire Dawa through Alemaya villages and green fertile plateau. Dinner and overnight in Dire Dawa.
Day 5: After breakfast drive back to Addis Ababa. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Addis.
