Pick up at port with our English speaking driver/guide. Transfer through the scenic countryside to a characteristic village on the slopes of Mt. Etna. The area is known for its orange and lemon groves, luxurious orchards and gardens as well as vineyards producing special wine. You will be met at her house by a well known gastronomic journalist and start a "hands on" three hour lesson in the cuisine of Sicily (with emphasis on the traditions, habits and customs from which this exquisite cuisine originates). The course will focus on the more famous Sicilian recipes. Lunch will follow.
In early afternoon depart for Taormina and walking tour through the historic old town and a visit to the Greek-Roman amphitheater. Return to cruise ship.
