Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, Thursday: Depart for Athens. Depart from your home country to Athens, Greece. Flights from the U.S. are overnight.
Day 2, Friday: Arrive in Athens. Welcome dinner
upon arrival we will transfer by private coach to our hotel and check in. Time to rest and relax before our Orientation and Welcome Dinner. Overnight Athens. Includes: (D).
Day 3, Saturday: Athens, Acropolis and Sounion. Bands of Protection, Seer and Harmony Rites. After breakfast, we are off for our morning in Athens, and will be met by our Homeric Tours guide. We will visit such sights as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, The Royal Palace and the Panathenian Stadium. Our tour will feature an extended visit of the Acropolis, the original site of Athens, a limestone plateau overlooking the city and supporting the Parthenon, the all-marble temple dedicated to Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, War, and Crafts.
At the Theater of Dionysus, god of spiritual intoxication and initiation into secret rites, you will receive the Seer Rite. At the Temple of Athena, protective goddess of Athens, you will receive the Bands of Protection. Next we will visit the Monastiraki (Flea Market) as well as the modern market. We will drive through Patission Ave and Alexandra Ave. As well as Vas and Sofia Ave and Panepistimiou Ave.
Then onto onto "Cape Sounion". We drive along the coastal road past the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour is Cape Sounion dominated by the spectacular Temple of Poseidon, god of the Sea, overlooking the Aegean Sea. Here you will receive the Harmony Rite. Return to Athens for our overnight accommodations. Includes: (B).
Day 4, Sunday: Elefsis – Epidaurus – Mycanae - Athens.
We will drive to Elefisi and visit. The Temple of Eleusius, Home to the Mystery School of Demeter, goddess of the Earth. Essentially, the rites of this school imitated the agricultural cycles of planting the seed, nurturing its growth, and harvesting the grain. On the esoteric level the drama enacted for the initiates symbolized the odyssey of the human soul, its descent into matter, its earthly sufferings, its terror in the darkness of death, and its rebirth into divine existence. Here you will receive the Earth keeper Rite.
Next we drive along the coastal road of the Soronic gulf to Mycenae; an imposing site on top of a rocky hill. The Mycenaean culture, the first civilization to begin in Europe in 1400 BE, is the source of ancient epics and legends such as Helen of Troy and the Trojan War, and King Agamemnon's tragic life and death. We visit the Beehive Tombs of King Agamemnon (above) and the awe-inspiring Lions Gate (right), the earliest known piece of monumental sculpture on the European continent.
Then drive through Argos onto Nauplita. After our stop for our included lunch, we visit Epidaurus, one of the ancient Greek theaters, built right into hills and made of marble, world renowned because of its amazing acoustics. Epidaurus was a sanctuary dedicated to Asclepius, the God of Healing and Medicine. Here you will receive the Healer Rite. Returning to Athens via the Epidaurus and Corinth we visit ancient Corinth and the sites made famous by St. Paul the Apostle. Return to Athens for overnight stay. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 5, Monday: Delphi. After breakfast at our Hotel we begin our classical tour of Northern Greece. We begin with a visit to the Archaeological site of Delphi, home of the ancient oracle, one of the most famous mystical sites in the world. In ancient times it was considered the center of the known world, the place where heaven and earth met, the place on earth where man/woman was closest to God/Goddess.
At the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, you will receive the Day keeper Rite. At the Sanctuary of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, you will receive the Wisdom keeper Rite. After our visit we will overnight at the Amalia hotel in Delphi. Our included dinner will be served this evening. Includes: (B), (D).
Day 6, Tuesday: Delphi - Dion - Thessaloníki. After breakfast at our Hotel We depart and visit Mt. Olympus at Dion (approx. 5.5 hrs). At the ancient archaeological site of Dion, we are at the foot of Mt. Olympus, home to the gods. Here where Zeus, Lord of the sky and King of the gods, reigned you will receive the Star keeper Rite and the Co-Creator Rite. From Dion we continue on to Thessaloníki (1.5 hours). We check into our hotel for our overnight accommodations. Includes: (B), (D).
Day 7, Wednesday: Thessaloníki. After breakfast at our Hotel, we will visit the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloníki and its surrounding sights. We later fly back to Athens for our overnight stay. Good Bye Dinner. Includes: (B).
Day 8, Thursday: Depart for Home. After breakfast at our Hotel, we will transfer you to the airport for our flight home. Includes: (B).
