If you have an interest in various plant species, then Kibale National Park is the park you should visit. This park is a topical rain forest with over 250 tree species. It’s major eco-system includes wetlands, grasslands and forests. Covering an area of 795km, this park has 11 species of non-human primates. Including chimps and monkeys, 336 species of bird including African Pitta, warbler and blue headed sun birds among others.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: At dawn we will leave Kampala and head South West. There is usually a stop over at the equator where you can relax. There after you shall proceed to Mpabire to visit the royal drum makers. The journey then continues to Fort Portal where you can see the cultural attractions like Nakayiima shrine in Mubende. You’ll arrive in Kibale later in the evening. Here you will have dinner and spend the night at Kayanchu.
Day 2: The first thing we shall do is set off for Chimp tracking. Here you will see black and white colobus monkeys, bush babies, bush pigs gray cheeked mongabay among others.
Day 3: Trust tours will arrange for you to go nature viewing and bird watching. There after you shall return to Kampala arriving later in the evening.
