Namaqualand has more than 6500 flower species but it’s not only flowers that you will found on this tour but a huge diversity of different wonderful natural creations on the western boundaries of our beautiful country. We will be traveling through Kimberley and its Diamond fields, Witsand Nature Reserve which is part of the Kalahari Desert, The Gariep River valley from Upington to Augrabies water falls, Springbok and its Copper mines & flowers, the "Knersvlakte" and its unique flowers, Vredendal its wine yards & wine Cellars, Clanwilliam with its Veldskoen & Rooibos tee factories plus their flowers, Carnarvon and its Corbelled Houses, Gariep Dam & Bloemfontein Historical Buildings & Woman memorial & museum. Join us for an enjoyable tour in these parts of our country, where you can feel free and safe.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Depart from Pretoria via Johannesburg towards Kimberley. We will travel through North-West Province and breakfast at Potchefstroom, we travel further passing Klerksdorp, Bloemhof & Christiana, at Christiana we can enjoy a light lunch before we travel towards Kimberley. At Kimberley we will visit the "Big Hole" & museum; if possible you can ride on the old "Tram" before we possible overnight at The Savoy Hotel.

Day 2: Depart from Kimberley towards Witsand. After breakfast we travel towards Douglas, we will witness the confluence of the Gariep & Vaal Rivers. Our next stop will be Griekwastad, if possible a visit to "Earth Treasures" cutters of semi precious stones, before we head for a light lunch. After lunch we travel towards Witsand Nature Reserve where you could walk the 3km walking trail, witness the 4 different colours of dunes, "Brulsand", several bird species, mammals & the unique Kalahari flora. We could overnight at Witsand Nature Reserve Included: Earth Treasures, Entrance fees Witsand + Witsand walking trail.

Day 3: Depart from Wits and towards Augrabies. After breakfast we travel via Grobblaarshoop towards Upington, at Upington you can witness the Camel & Donkey statues; the only of its kind in SA. After a light lunch we travel towards Augrabies Water falls via Keimoes & Kakamas. A visit to the falls and walk around before we settle in the camp at the falls for the night.

Day 4: Augrabies towards Springbok. After breakfast we travel past Pofadder towards Springbok where South Africa’s first Copper was mined. At Springbok will be our first full encounter with the Namaqualand flowers when we visit Goegap Nature Reserve & Hester Malan Gardens. We overnight at Springbok.

Day 5: Springbok towards Vredendal. After breakfast we travel southwards, at Kamieskroon (this town houses the only windmill museum in SA) we travel towards Namaqualand National Park also known as Skilpad (world renown for its flowers). After lunch we travel past Garies, we will cross the well known Knersvlakte towards Vanrhynsdorp. We overnight at Vredendal; a visit to the wine cellar at Vredendal is possible if time permits.

Day 6: Vredendal & Surroundings. We travel towards the Atlantic Ocean & a visit to Papendorp, Strandfontein, Doring Bay & Lamberts Bay is possible. We will enjoy lunch at Lamberts Bay. After lunch we travel towards Clanwilliam and visit Ramskop flower reserve & possible the Rooibos tea factory & the Veldskoen factory. On our way back towards Vredendal we will travel past Klawer & the Olifants River irrigation scheme.

Day 7: Vredendal towards Carnarvon. After an early breakfast we travel through Vanrhynsdorp crossing the Knersvlakte over Vanrhyn’s pass entering Nieuwoudtville, in few places to mention Oorlogskloof nature reserve, Nieuwoudtville water fall, the most southern Quiver Tree forest & Loeriesfontein flowers.

Day 8: Carnarvon towards Bloemfontein. A visit to an old Corbelled farm house at Carnarvon will be possible. We travel through Victoria West, Colesberg & Gariep Dam, South Africa’s largest dam. We overnight at Bloemfontein.

Day 9: Bloemfontein towards Johannesburg/Pretoria. A visit to the Woman’s memorial & museum and a short drive-through Bloemfontein’s streets with its old and historical buildings before we depart for Johannesburg & Pretoria via Kroonstad.
