Day 1: Arrive Cape Town/Cederberg. Departing early in the morning we travel to the Cedarberg, a massive rocky wilderness where giant sandstone boulders have been sculpted by wind and rain into bizarre and artistic shapes. In the afternoon we explore the rugged landscape on foot. Includes: (L), (D).
Day 2: Gariep River. Entering Namibia, we stop at the Gariep River. The afternoon is free for swimming and relaxing, or take an optional journey down the river in canoes. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: Fish River Canyon. We make our way to Fish River canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. In the afternoon, we watch as a spectacular sunset slips over the canyon’s rim. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 4-5: Namib Desert. The towering red sand dunes of Sossusvlei form the gateway into the Namib Desert. We walk to Sossusvlei, explore Sesriem Canyon, and watch dramatic sunsets over the world’s highest sand dunes. Includes: 2(B), 2(L), 2(D).
Days 6-7: Swakopmund. Lunar landscapes and the prehistoric Welwitchia plants surround the coastal town of Swakopmund. The day is free to explore the town or try quad biking or dune boarding. Includes: 2(B), 1(L).
Day 8: Damaraland. We move north into the stony desert landscapes near Twyfelfontein. In the afternoon we explore the area, which is adorned with rock engravings and petrified fossil forests. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 9-10: Etosha National Park. Etosha offers a wide variety of wildlife. We take game drives around the huge dry pan in search of elephants, herds of antelope and lions. Includes: 2(B), 2(L), 2(D).
Day 11: Windhoek. We leave Etosha National Park and head south to the capital of Namibia. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12: Kalahari. Crossing into Botswana, we overnight in Kalahari and explore the area with the local San Bushmen to learn fascinating bush skills. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 13: Maun. We stop in Maun for a night in preparation before journeying deep into the Okavango Delta on mokoro (dugout canoes). Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 14-15: Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta Excursion is an experience not to be missed. Enjoy game walks, swimming, birdlife and game viewing in this pristine wilderness area. Includes: 2(B), 2(L), 2(D).
Day 16: Gweta. We leave the Delta behind and continue to Gweta. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 17: Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park has Botswana’s most varied wildlife. There are approximately 55,000 elephants in the area. The park is also known for its lion population, which on occasion do hunt elephants. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 18-19: Zambia / Victoria Falls. Tour Victoria Falls, a natural wonder of the world, plunging into the Zambezi Gorge. Optional activities include whitewater rafting on the mighty Zambezi or, for the adventurous, an 111m bungee jump. Includes: 2(B).
Day 20: Depart Zambia / Victoria Falls. Includes: (B).
