Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Santa Cruz - Concepción. Trip from Santa Cruz passing the Rio Grande, Rio San Julian, San Ramon, and the Jesuit Mission of San Javier, a colonial town that has a beautiful restored Jesuit Church. Lunch. We continue traveling through the Chiquitano forests and savannas until Concepción, the main center of the missions. There we will visit another amazing Jesuit Church, considered a baroque treasure from the XVIII Century. Night in hotel in Concepción. Includes: (L, D).
Day 2: Concepción - San Ignacio de Velasco. Morning visit to the workshops dedicated to the restoration of all the Jesuit churches in Eastern Bolivia. In the afternoon, the trip will continue to San Ignacio, passing through Chiquitano forests mixed with palms, wetlands, and jungle areas neighboring small villages. San Ignacio de Velasco is the largest city of the region area and main center of commerce, and has a church that is under reconstruction. Night in San Ignacio de Velasco. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 3: San Ignacio de Velasco and other mission villages. This will be a long but great day, our trip will pass several interesting mission villages such as Santa Ana, San Rafael and San Miguel and visit their churches that have been restored. In this way, we will complete our experience learning more about the history and impact of dedicated Jesuit missionaries that once lived there. Return to the hotel in San Ignacio de Velasco. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 4: San Ignacio - Santa Cruz. Return to Santa Cruz, passing Concepción and San Javier. Transfer to your hotel in Santa Cruz. Includes: (B, L).
One-day extension: If interested in visiting one of the most dynamic villages that have music schools training local indigenous, ask for Urubichá, a small town hidden in the Jesuit Mission circuit. Tours for special interest groups or private are available.
