Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Your Spooky Adventure starts when the tour guide/driver collects you at either Edinburgh or Glasgow international Airport. Our journey begins with a drive to Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh. Where we will take you to your hotel to book in. To ease you in after a long flight you can choose to either have a rest or visit Edinburgh’s famous princess street for a wee bit of shopping. Remembering all day that you have a spooky Mercat tour that evening a choice of tours are available for the real ghost hunters or for the more faint hearted.

Day 2: After a full Scottish breakfast we need to put or walking shoes on and we head for the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond where we will stop to stretch our legs and go on a walk to Sallochy Wood which is the ruined hamlet of Wester Sallochy and is said to be awaiting the return of it’s long-dead tenants. Not the place to be visited at night, though some do. After this eerie walk we head for Oban to visit Dunstaffnage Castle unoccupied, except for the odd clan MacDougall specter rattling around the dungeons. The castle notorious ghost is said to where a green dress and foretells major events- both good and bad. We then proceed to our Haunted Hotel (The Kimberly Hotel) in time for Dinner; please let us know if you bump into the Grey Lady who is said to roam reception at midnight.

Day 3: After a wholesome Scottish Breakfast and our walking shoes on, we head North to The Lost Valley Glencoe. We need to set off early as we need to allow 3hrs for this walk. The Lost/Hidden Valley is the secret glen that the ill-fated MacDonald’s hid the cattle they had stolen from the Lowlands. A narrow, wooded cleft takes you between the gnarled Three Sisters of Glencoe, over the threshold and into the huge bowl of Corie Gabhail. After this exhilarating walk we head to Kingussie for a well earned rest where we will stay that evening. We can take you for a look around Aviemore for anyone in the group wanting to see this quaint village.

Day 4: After a full Breakfast we head for Loanhead of Daviot Stone Circle an impressive and spooky circle of 11 stone from 4000/5000 BC. The remains of 32 people were found here, only God knows what they were doing there. We then continue our Ghost tour heading for Aberdeen to go on another ghost tour. Once we have been on our Ghost tour we head for Slains Castle which stands on a bleak and windswept cliff top at Cruden Bay. Author Bram Stoker visited here in the 1980’s and the trip is said to have inspired his horror creation Count Dracula. Bram Stoker was said to be staying in the nearby Kilmarnock Arms Hotel when he finished writing his tale. This will be the hotel we stay in for the evening.

Day 5: After a hearty Scottish Breakfast we head for the fairytale Glamis Castle in it majestic setting but do not be fooled it is known as one of the most haunted castles in Scotland. This is said to be where the beautiful Lady Glamis was accused of being a witch and burned at the stake. She now drifts through the corridors. Another ghost said to be the fourth earl of Crawford haunts a room in the castle where he is said to have played cards with the devil. Then it’s off to Dunkeld where we can visit the Cathedral and Beatrix Potter Garden or a quick stop off for coffee to take the chill from our bones and head to our hotel for dinner.

Day 6: After a full Scottish breakfast we head on to Stirling to visit Stirling Castle where you may spot the green lady a phantom in the castle that appears at the most unexpected times and places. We then go on to see the Wallace Monument in all it glory. Then it’s off to our hotel for a well earned meal.

Day 7: After a full Scottish breakfast we will head for Hamilton to Hamilton Mausoleum for a guided tour. After our tour of the mausoleum we head for Glasgow for The John Knox Necropolis where many of the city’s most famous sons and daughters are interred within the reach of the long shadow of the John Knox’s obelisk.
