Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Copenhagen Arrive in Copenhagen and transfer to your city-center hotel. Spend the day relaxing, catching up from jet lag and strolling along the Strøget — the pedestrian shopping street—to experience the true flavor or the Danish people. We suggest you take a canal tour that cruises through all areas of the old city and passes many of the most famous sights. Try dinner at the festive Tivoli Gardens! Be sure to use your Copenhagen City Card for free or reduced admission to many of the area’s attractions!

Essential sights not to be missed:

- Tivoli Gardens
- Tycho Brahe Planetarium
- Rosenborg, Christianborg and Amalienborg castles
- The National Museum of Denmark; check out the Viking exhibit
- The Open-Air Museum
- Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
- Størget pedestrian street for great shopping
Accommodations: Skt. Petri Hotel, Copenhagen’s No. 1 designer hotel in the heart of the city. Includes: (B).

Day 2: Copenhagen – Åhus

Take the train across the Öresund Bridge to Malmö to pick up your rental car at the downtown office. Continue on to Ystad and Kåseberge, home of the “Stonehenge-like” stones from Medieval Sweden—Ales Stenar. Drive up the coast to Simrishamn. Visit the orchard in Kivik and end the day in Åhus, a quintessential Swedish fishing village.
Accommodations: Åhus Gästgifvaregård, a traditional country inn and sailor’s tavern, all under one roof. Includes: (B, D).

Day 3: Åhus – Kalmar

On your way to Kalmar, explore “Crystal Country,” or Glasriket. Between the dense trees and red houses are scattered 16 glass factories marked by signs that say “glasbruk.” Be sure to visit Kosta Boda and Orrefors. You will not only find great deals on second-and first-quality crystal, but also on ceramics, wood, leather and other handicrafts. Use your “Glasriket Pass” for admission into the glass factories as well as discounts. Take time to tour the medieval Kalmar Castle and marvel at its grounds. Cross over the bridge to Öland to view the quaint windmills and ruins of the Borgholm Fortress. Retire for the evening at your charming countryside hotel and its exquisite restaurant.
Accommodations: Slottshotellet, castle hotel in the center of Kalmar. Includes: (B, D).

Day 4: Kalmar – Stockholm

Enjoy the drive along Sweden’s eastern coast to Stockholm. Drop off your rental car at the downtown office upon arrival. The beautiful capital of Sweden is located among thousands of islands making up the Stockholm archipelago. Spend a day visiting all of them, or just one. Either way, you’ll understand why so many people fall in love with this city. Use your 48-hour Stockholm City Card for free or reduced admission to the area’s many attractions.

Essential sights not to be missed:

- Gamla Stan
- Vasa Museum
- The Royal Palace
- Skansen
- Drottingholm Castle, just outside Stockholm
- Museum of National Antiques
- The Nordiska Museum
Accommodations: First Hotel Reisen with sea view, a classic hotel uniquely situated in Old Town. Includes: (B).

Day 5: Stockholm

After breakfast, your journey ends, or you may extend your holiday by continuing on to Helsinki, the Baltics, St. Petersburg or Norway.

Single supplement: $425.

Price includes:

- All breakfasts and 2 dinners at exquisite hotels
