Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Chengdu fly to Lhasa by air, bus to Tsetang. Take morning flight to Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and start your tour in Tibet. The first visit today is Samye monastery which is 50km to the east of airport, take boat to cross the river and visit the Samyye. In the late afternoon, get back to ferry, and drive to Tsetang. Includes: (B).
Day 2: Tsetang to Lhasa. In the morning, visit the Yongbulakang palace (the first palace in Tibet), the Changdrok temple. In the afternoon, drive back to Lhasa, on the way, visit the Mingdorling monastery (the famous monastery for Ningma - pa sect, once the Fifth Dalai Lhama was obsessed with the teachings and rituals of Ningma - pa order). Arriving at Lhasa city. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 3: Lhasa sightseeing. In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala palace which was built in the 7th century for the King Songtsan Gambo. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 4: Lhasa to Namtso Lake. In the morning, you will visit Tsepung monastery which is the biggest monastery in Tibetan area, near it is the Gandenpozang, the once political and religious center and capital. From the second through fifth (15th AD- 17 AD), there were 5 Dalai Lhamas once living here.
In the afternoon, you will drive to the North to see the biggest lake in Tibet - Namtso lake (elevation 4718m) and enjoy the sunset over the lake surface. Beside it is the peak of Mt. Nyianchentangula (altitude is 7162m). Overnight in Lakeside Guest house. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 5: Namtso Lake to Lhasa. After seeing the glory of the sunrise over the huge lake, you will drive back to Lhasa, at Yangbajing, you can have a good time in the highland Spring before check in your hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 6: Lhasa to your next stop. Taking morning flight to leave Tibet. Includes: (B), (L).
