Peru has one of the largest networks of Inca remains and following the innumerable trails that connect with the most amazing sites in the Cusco, Puno, Nasca, Lima, Arequipa, Paracas, passing through remote villages out of the reach of motorized vehicles, and having the chance to get know local Andean communities and learn their amazing life style. Mountain Biking is a relatively new sport in Peru, but new routes are rapidly being opened up, many of which offer excellent opportunities to ride.

For the more adventurous people, we arrange long biking trips. We are best undertaken and an experienced tour operator providing professional guides and bicycle equipment as well as the necessary supporting 4WD vehicles.

We have cycle trips from 1 up to more days designed to get the most out of your holiday. Beginning in the high Andes and descending into the Amazon jungle, we cycle from altitudes of 5000m to 600m. Biking on the single tracks, dirt roads, humid lands, frigid and warm climates, camping or spending in the local family houses.

Tour Itinerary:

At 7am pick you up from your in Puno and travel on our private transport until the city of Juliaca, from here we began our biking tour by the northeast part of lake Titicaca, riding extensive plains, small typical towns in the Andes (Suman, Taraco, Huancane, Vilque Chico) they people dedicated to the agriculture Llama and Alpaca domestications, short explore into the artisan fairs of these towns. Also we will cross the Lampa and Ramis rivers, after 2 hours approximately we will arrive at elestrecho de Arapa, with beautiful landscapes of lake Titicaca and Arapa surrounding by small mountains, it is an impressive landscape plenty of very calm fauna, that can even be seen in this part of the Titicaca reserve.

Our route is relatively easy and difficult simultaneously, some parts are of ascent small hills, over 3700m and 3900m maximum, in all trip we will have the support of our transport, how will following surrounding the lake. Finishing crossing the two lakes we will have a delicious lunch with many calories and continue biking towards the Southeast of the lake, arriving at the Huancane, Vilque Chico, Moho and finally to Conima village located in the border between Peru and Bolivia, Conima has a spectacular landscape from where is possible to appreciate the northeast part of La Cordillera Real, crosses the Andes of Bolivia, also much more Llamas and Alpacas lives in this part of lake Titicaca.

After 5 - 6 hours of mountain bike over 3800m we will return to Puno or you can stay a night in a pretty hotel of Moho town.

Rain Season: December to April. Some days blue sky with good conditions to cycle.

Best Time for Cycle: April to November, on the rain season same days are with good weather (blue sky) permitting to cycle this zone. Before to book your tour please see the weather report.

Advice for Bikers: To have good acclimatization, good physical conditions and good quality winter clothes. One day before all the bikers will have meeting with the mountain bike guide at our office or in the hotel, who will give a briefing about this bike trip and also you can check the quality of bikes and gear will be used on this trip.

- Rain jacket or poncho (December to April)

- One complete change of clothing

- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun
- Sun block (sun protection cream)
- Insect repellent
- Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits etc,
