Peru has one of the largest networks of Inca remains and following the innumerable trails that connect with the most amazing sites in the Cusco, Puno, Nasca, Lima, Arequipa, Paracas, passing through remote villages out of the reach of motorized vehicles, and having the chance to get know local Andean communities and learn their amazing life style. Mountain Biking is a relatively new sport in Peru, but new routes are rapidly being opened up, many of which offer excellent opportunities to ride.
For the more adventurous people, we arrange long biking trips. We are best undertaken and an experienced tour operator providing professional guides and bicycle equipment as well as the necessary supporting 4WD vehicles.
We have cycle trips from 1 up to more days designed to get the most out of your holiday. Beginning in the high Andes and descending into the Amazon jungle, we cycle from altitudes of 5000m to 600m. Biking on the single tracks, dirt roads, humid lands, frigid and warm climates, camping or spending in the local family houses.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Puno - Pukara - La Raya - Hot Spring. At 7am transfer to Pukara on our private 4x4 vehicle, Pukara is a handicraft village located over 3700m, from here we ride our bicycles on the even terrain, exploring the large group of Lamas and alpacas grazing, passing through remote and rarely visit village of farmers. We will cycle across the spectacular La Raya Pass (4300m), after photo stop on the top of the pass, we will enjoy a sweeping descent to the hot springs. Late lunch and camp near of the hot spring, on the bottom of Vilcanota range (3815m).
Day 2: Hot Spring - Sicuani - Raqchi - Urcos. Early morning optional enjoy the hot spring and them is downhill that follows the spectacular Vilcanota River, seeing small farms with colorful crops growing in harmonious patterns on the hillsides. Enter cycling to Sicuani valley and stop for lunch and visit Raqchi complex, dominate the Wiracocha temple, an impressive Inca ruins surrounding by pre-Inca terraces and extinct volcano at the top of the mountains. Continue riding (cross country) on right bank of the Vilcanota river. Late afternoon set up tent nearby Urcos.
Day 3: Urcos - Pikillaqta - Tipon - Cusco. Today continue cycle on the right bank of the Vilcanota river, uphill to Pikillaqta site, where are pre- and Inca remains, locate on the up site of the road, short stop to explorer this zone. Continue cycling on the asphalt and some time taking single track between the agriculture terraces and meeting local people working the fields. Lunch on half way. Enter to Tipon archaeological site; there is amazing Inca terraces build with the greatest engineering system, today Tipon is showed to all visitors from the entire world, plenty time to explore this complex and late afternoon transfer by our private van to Cusco, stay at the selected hotel and end of our service.

Rain Season: November to April. Some days are with blue sky permitting to cycle this zone.
Best Time for Cycle: After rain season (April to June) the mountains are completely covered with snow and the slops are cover with new vegetation making more nice for pictures.
Advice for Bikers: Normal physical conditions and summer clothes, bikers require good acclimatization over 3600m. One day before all the bikers will have meeting with the mountain bike guide at our office or in the hotel, who will give a briefing about this bike trip and also you can check the quality of bikes and gear will be used on this trip.

- Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Puno/Peru)

- Water bottle and purification tablets (Micropur are recommended and can be bought in local pharmacies in Puno/Peru)
