All the accommodation choices are of the very best available, and this luxury version ensures the most relaxed mode of travel as the longest distance in the itinerary, is by light aircraft rather than traveling by road. Not only does it offer wide open spaces and unpolluted skies, but the serene tranquility of the area is further supplemented by an in-house wellness center where Guests may enjoy such luxuries as aromatherapy massages and reflexology, plus a sulfur-free, natural mineral spring. Kaokoveld! This term encompasses the areas of Damaraland and Kaokoland - world famous for the Namibian Desert Elephants, free-roaming Black Rhino, the Epupa Falls in the Kunene River and ochre-colored Ova-Himba nomads!
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet your host at Namibia’s International airport. Transfer to Windhoek for a short tour of its sights and sounds before settling into one of our luxury 4-star Hotels. Relax from the long flight and acclimatize to Namibia. Afternoon and evening at own leisure until dinner.
Day 2: On the first leg of your safari, travel on the main road towards the Atlantic coastline to arrive at Namibia's premier Riviera, Swakopmund. If you are seafood lovers - Swakopmund is it!
Day 3: After breakfast, be transferred to the airport at Swakopmund for a full day excursion by light aircraft across the Kaokoland to Epupa Falls in the Kunene River, where you will also meet the Ova-Himba.
Day 4: An early breakfast this morning to travel on a salt-surfaced road along the coast towards the seal colony at Cape Cross. A short visit, then continue through the Skeleton Coast Park to your first venue in Damaraland.
Day 5: Entire day in the care of the local guides who will escort you on Game- and nature drives through this pristine, dry but very fertile wilderness.
Day 6: Having reached the half way mark on your safari, move further north into Kaokoveld where you will be welcomed by excellent hosts at a remarkable, luxury accommodation establishment. A late afternoon Game viewing drive could result in some very exciting sightings!
Day 7: This morning you will experience one of the most informative, guided hikes known. During the course of the day, there will be more Game viewing drives and in between you may relax around a sparkling swimming pool or wallow in a natural, sulfur-free hot spring. Wellness therapies such as muscle massage, aromatherapy and Reflexology are also available.
Day 8: Depart from the Kaokoveld - albeit reluctantly - and shorten the return journey with a break at a private safari lodge, boasting the largest variety of African wildlife outside the boundaries of the Etosha National Park.
Day 9: All good things also come to an end, and today you have to return to Windhoek. On arrival, be welcomed to your spacious room in an early 19th century German castle. Dine in luxury, with the skyline of Windhoek at your feet, while viewing the sun being invited into the folds of the distant Khomas Hochland on the horizon - a fitting finale for this, your last night in Namibia, Africa.
Day 10: Subject to flight departure time, you may enjoy a relaxed morning to browse the central business district of Windhoek after a leisurely breakfast. Transfer to Namibia’s International airport to arrive in time for your departure flight.
