Day 1, October 10: Depart USA. The adventure begins! Guided hotel transfer upon arrival in Beijing. Meals on Plane.
Day 2, October 11: Beijing. Today we will take you to the Ming Tombs, including both entering one of the tombs and walking the Sacred Way. After lunch we will go onto the incredible Great Wall of China (at Badaling). It is an incredible feeling to be standing on one of the Seven Wonders of the World; return to hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 3, October 12: Beijing. Today you will experience the Temple of Heaven, which is the site where the emperor would go to pray and commune with the gods. In the afternoon we will take you to the 2nd Hand Street Market where you will find a wide variety of items and can test your bargaining skills. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 4, October 13: Beijing. Enjoy a tour of a Chinese Hutong. Includes a rickshaw ride, a short walking tour and visiting the home of a local family. After lunch visit Tian Anmen Square and then to the Forbidden City In addition to seeing the buildings and grounds of the Emperor's palace, you will also see the Emperor's clock collection and the Qing Dynasty Jewelry, Robes and Relics collection (which Westerners rarely see). Beijing Duck Evening Option: Beijing Opera. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5, October 14: Beijing. Summer Palace and overnight on the great wall! Today you will visit the Summer Palace which was built for the Emperors of the Ming Dynasty. In the afternoon you will be driven outside of Beijing to a special part of the Great Wall at Jin Shan Ling where you will stay overnight in a Guard Tower! This experience is not generally offered on most tours. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6, October 15: Beijing. Train to Xi’an. You will wake up on one of the Wonders of the World! After enjoying the wall you will return back to Beijing. We will take you a grocery store to buy some snacks, foods, favorite beverages for your train. Then we will take you to the train station for your 12-hour ride to Xi’an. Day 7, October 16: Arrive in Xi’an. Guided hotel transfer. Afterwards you will have a tour of the city, including the old city wall, the drum tower and the bell tower. After lunch visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8, October 17: Xi’an. Today you will visit what has been called the "8th Wonder of the World" the Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum and Factory. The museum also has a 360-degree theater; return to hotel. Watch the Wild Goose Pagoda water show. This free show is the largest of its kind in China. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 9, October 18: Xi’an, Lhasa. Airport transfer for flight to Lhasa; guided hotel transfer. The rest of the day is free to adjust to the altitude. Includes: (B).
Day 10, October 19: Lhasa. Today we will take you to the Jokhang Temple, Bharkhuo Street and the Tibetan Quarter of the town. Dinner will be at the Crazy Yak Restaurant. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11, October 20: Lhasa. Visit the incredible Potala Palace, it is literally a "city set on a hill." After lunch visit the Sera Monastery, and possibly see the Monks "debate. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12, October 21: Lhasa, Chengdu. This morning we will take you to Norblinka (the Dali Lama Summer Palaces). Also enjoy some interesting shops with local Tibetan crafts before your flight to Chengdu; guided hotel transfer. Evening Option: Chinese Teahouse and entertainments. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 13, October 22: Chengdu, Guilin. This morning we take you to the Panda Station, where you can experience the Pandas. Afterwards we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin; guided hotel transfer. Includes: (B).
Day 14, October 23: Guilin. Enjoy a city tour including: Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and the Reed Flute Caves. Afternoon Option: The world famous Guilin Foot-Massage. Evening Option: Guilin “Walking-Street” Area. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 15, October 24: Guilin, Yangshuo. Take the 3-4 hour Li Jiang River Cruise. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the whole world. Disembark in Yangshuo, a quaint village very close to the beautiful mountains. Take a bicycle ride or a drive through these fantasy-shaped mountains. Overnight in Yangshuo. Evening Option: Enjoy the spectacular show Impressions. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 16, October 25: Yangshou (Guilin), Shanghai. The morning is free to enjoy the scenery in Yangshuo before your flight to Shanghai; guided hotel transfer. Once settled visit the Shanghai Art Museum. This evening enjoy the Bund, by the evening lights. Evening Option: Enjoy the Historic Peace Hotel Jazz Band in the Bund Area. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 17, October 26: Shanghai, Chongqing. Begin with a tour of the classic Yu Yuan Gardens, which exits into the main shopping center "China Town". Then you will fly to Chongqing, where you will visit the Three Gorges Museum, for an overview of the cruise you will be taking. In the evening board East King Cruise Ship. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 18, October 27-28: Yangtze River Cruise. The Yangtze River Cruise continues (The Ghost Temple, Shendong stream and beautiful scenery). Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 19, October 29: Yichang, Shanghai. Visit the Three Gorges Dam project and then re board the ship for the end of cruise. Disembark at Yichang; guided airport transfer for flight to Shanghai; guided hotel transfer. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 20, October 30: Shanghai, USA. The morning is free. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the USA with many wonderful memories. Includes: (B).
