Tour Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Depart the US for your flight to Beijing. The adventure begins! Upon arrival in Beijing (Aug. 17), you will have a guided transfer to your hotel. Meals on Plane.
Note: We have created a flexible schedule in Beijing allowing for you to attend your desired events and tour the other days. Tours are included in the prices Ticket prices are not included in tour price, but we can help you obtain tickets.
Day 3-4: Olympic Events or Beijing Sightseeing: We will take you to whatever Olympic Events that you want during the day. You can also sightsee in Beijing or have free days (Olympic event tickets are not included)
Main Tour Choices:
Tour Day: Enjoy a tour of a Chinese Hutong. Includes a rickshaw ride, a short walking tour and visiting the home of a local family. Evening Option: Beijing Opera.
Tour Day: Temple of Heaven, Great Wall and Ming Tombs: The day begins with a visit to Tian Anmen Square and then to the Forbidden City. In addition to seeing the buildings and grounds of the Emperor's palace, you will also see the Emperor's clock collection and the Qing Dynasty Jewelry, Robes and Relics collection (which Westerners rarely see). After lunch you will go to the Temple of Heaven, which is where the Emperor went every year to commune with the gods.
Tour Day: Today we will take you to the Ming Tombs, including both entering one of the tombs and walking the Sacred Way. After lunch we will go onto the incredible Great Wall of China (at Badaling). It is an incredible feeling to be standing on one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which is over 3,900 miles in length! We will then return you to your hotel.
Options: We can possibly take you to one or more of the following: the Summer Palace, the Beijing Zoo, Panda Exhibit, the Yong He Gong Tibetan Buddhist Lamasery, to fill parts of the day that are not filled with Olympic events.
Day 5: Olympic Events or Beijing Sightseeing: We will take you to whatever Olympic Events that you want during the day. You can also sightsee in Beijing or have free days (Olympic event tickets are not included). Then you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ulan Botar (Via Beijing). Once you arrive you will be met by your guide and then transferred to your hotel.
Day 6: The day’s touring includes: the Gandan Monastery, Choijin Lama Temple Museum and the National History Museum, which has some wonderful exhibits, especially concerning Chingiis Khan and the tribal costumes.
Day 7: Today visit to the Natural History Museum, featuring the dinosaur fossils and eggs collections. Then visit the Bogd Khan Summer and Winter Palace, which features a ger covered in snow leopard pelts and an empress’s dress with over 11,000 pearls strewn on it. Enjoy dinner at a Ger Restaurant with traditional Mongolian performers.
Day 8-10: Gobi Desert Trek. You will fly to Dalanzadgad. During the Gobi Desert Trek you will stay overnight in a Ger Camp. Your first trek day includes the Yol Am area which features a glacier in the midst of the desert. On your second day enjoy a full day tour of the Flaming Cliffs and Dalanzadgad. The last day of the trek you will have a free morning to enjoy the area before flying back to UB hotel transfer. (D – Aug. 24/25)
Day 11: You will be transferred to the airport for your morning flight back to the Beijing. You will continue in the airport for your international flight back to USA with many wonderful memories! End Of Tour.
