Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Douala and overnight. Day 2: Travel from Douala to Yaounde by train. On arrival visit interesting sites in Yaounde such as monuments (Charles Atanga monument, Reunification monument), the national Museum and the conference centre. Departure from Yaounde to Ngaoundere in the evening by train. Day 3: Arrival at Ngaoundere and drive to the Benoue National Park by road through the beautiful landscape of North Cameroon. Visit the hippotamus pond, go to the concentration zone of large mammals such as the derby land, waterbucks and bufon kobs and a variety of primates. There are many beautiful birds along the way. Walk through the dry and rocky beds of River Benoue. Spend the night in the resort enjoying the fantastic sounds of nature. Day 4: Benue National Park - Maroua via Garoua. Visit to Lagdo Dam (an artificial lake), viewing of extensive. Cotton farms, visiting of the Garoua River Port, a unique feature) in the heart of the Sahelian region of Africa. The bus meanders through rocky slopes dotted with sahelian shrubs. Overnight at Maroua. Day 5: Maroua - Mindif - Maroua. Admire the gigantic Mindif Rock and the beautiful scenery of the adjoining areas; the dome-shaped structures. Visit farms and sprawling fishing villages. Day 6: Visit blackmiths and leather tanning centers before departing from Waza National Park which is the most visitor park in Central Africa because of its unique richest in wildlife species such as elephants, lions, large antelopes (wan antelopes, heartbeasts, Buffon Kobs), austriches (largest bird) and other numerous birds. Day 7: Spend early hours of the day in the Waza Park before departing to Rhumsiki via Koza Pass. Visit Palace traditional ruler of Mozogo with his fifty wives, hundreds of children and unique architectural design and admire the rocky Koza Pass en route to Rhumsiki and night) in the boukarous palace at Wangai. Days 8 & 9: Trekking through Rhumsiki and its environs. Visit the spiky Mchirguire mountain and the adjoining lunar landscape; Rhumsiki cave, believed to be the hide-out for the natives during times of war in the past, crafts making homes (cotton – weaving, pottery, tannery, basket weaving). Visit the witch doctor and night. Trek to the homes of some traditional rulers and experience some aspects of local culture. Day 10: Rhumsiki - Garoua. Rocky lunar landscape along the Nigerian border. Overnight in Garoua. Day 11: Garoua to the Atlantika area. Atlantika Mountains with the indigenous population made up of the Koma tribe, who are still pristine. Overnight in traditional palace of Wangai. Day 12: Continue visiting other areas at Atlantika. Day 13: Departure from Poli to Ngaoundere and travel by train to Yaounde by night. Day 14: Yaounde to Douala and flight from Douala at night. Notes: Prices:
