Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Aba shuttle will pick you from the airport on arrival and you will be transferred to Kasese via Kampala. Dinner and overnight in Margherita hotel.

Day 2: Begin by heading to Nyakalegija (1600 m), from Ibanda from where the trail begins and take the path to Nyabitaba hut (2651 m) about 10km for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ascend from Nyabitaba to John Mate Hut (3505 m). You follow the ridge through the forest and then fork down sleepy to the Mubuku River. This you cross using the Kurt Schafer Bridge from where you climb up again from the other side and head to Nyamiliju where you can get your lunch. From here it is only 2 hours to John Mate Hut for overnight.

Day 4: John Mate Hut to lake Bujuku (3962 m). Go through Bigo, past Bigo hut and on to the Bujuku hut. Lake Bujuku hut is two huts, which sleeps up to 14 people, and the conditions are recommendable.

Day 5: Lake Bujuku to Kitandara Hut (4032 m). This route takes you through the groundsel to a scree slope. Before reaching Lake Kitandara the path then descends again, next to one of the two lakes and close to the foot of Elena glaciers. Lake Bujuku to Kitandara Hut (4032 m). Day 6: Lake Kitandara Hut to the Kamamba rock shelter (3779 m) or to Guy Yeoman Hut. If you go to the Guy Yeoman hut, this is a walk of about five hours. A little further on is a second, larger rock shelter called Kamamba located close to waterfall, where you can spend a night.

Day 7: Guy Yeoman to Nyabitaba Hut (2651 m), or on to Nyakalengija (1600 m). Continue your descent via Kichuchu where there is another rock shelter. Follow the path along the ridge and down to the Nyabitaba Hut. From Nyabitaba Hut then you have to retrace your steps back to Nyakalengija.

Day 8: From Nyabitaba Hut you can proceed to Ibanda by road in the Mubuku valley and check in hotel Margerita for overnight rest.

Day 9: Drive back to Kampala then proceed Hotel Africana for an overnight and relaxation.

Day 10: Arrange to take your flight.
