Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kirkenes, Norway. Transfer to the hotel on your own upon arrival in Kirkenes. Check-in to your hotel. Overnight accommodation at Rica Kirkenes Hotel or similar. Includes: (D).
Day 2: Embarkation - Norwegian Coastal Steamer - Southbound. Breakfast at your hotel. Morning at leisure prior to boarding the famous Norwegian Coastal Steamer. Transfer to the pier on your own. Mid-day departure from Kirkenes. Considered by many as one of the most beautiful coastal voyages in the world, the Norwegian Coastal Steamer takes you on an unforgettable journey down the Norwegian coast from Kirkenes, situated on the top of Norway near the Russian border, to the World Heritage city of Bergen.
As a working ship for over 100 years, the Coastal Steamer has been sailing up and down the Norwegian coast delivering post as well as essential supplies in remote areas. On the southbound route, the ships make over 30 stops in major towns as well as remote villages. Even though the ships have been modernized, entertainment has stayed the same. The nature outside and the beauty of the surroundings as well as the ever changing scenery are the entertainment the ships offer.
While sailing above the Arctic Circle, one can experience the Midnight Sun during the summer and the Northern Lights during the winter. After leaving Kirkenes, the ship will stop in Vardo, where you will have a chance to see Vardohus Fort. Built between 1734 and 1738, it is a well preserved octagonal fort built to guard Norwegian interest in the Barents Sea. Overnight on board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: On board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. An early morning stop in Honningsvag, the capital of North Cape, before heading towards Hammerfest, regarded as the world’s most northerly town.

Day 4: On board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. In the morning, a chance to see the town of Harstad, located on Hinnoy, Norway largest island. Sailing through the impressive Raftsundet, a 20 km long strait, and Troll Fjord, you will reach Svolvar, the capital of Lofoten. Overnight on board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5: On board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. You’ll be passing 1,000 islands and sherries as well as leaving behind the Land of the Midnight Sun. You’ll have a chance to see the beautiful mountains of the “7 sisters” as well as one of Norway’s best-known natural phenomena, Torghatten. Overnight on board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. Day 6: On board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. A chance to experience Trondheim in the morning. Trondheim, was Norway’s first capital city and developed into Norway’s religious center. Take a chance to visit Nidaros Cathedral, a great national and cultural importance in Norway and is one of northern Europe’s greatest Gothic memorials. Overnight on board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: On board the Norwegian Coastal Steamer – Disembarkation in Bergen. Last day on board. Afternoon arrival in Bergen. After disembarkation, transfer to your hotel on your own. The rest of the day at leisure. Overnight accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral or similar. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: In bergen. After breakfast, take a 3-hour guided tour of Bergen. Your tour starts with a visit to Fantoft Stave Church, originally built 1150 and reconstructed after a fire in 1992. Afterwards continue to Troldhaugen, Edvard Grieg’s home of 22 years. On the way to the city center, at one of Bergen’s best panoramic viewpoints – on the top of Nattlandsfjellet. The tour ends in the city center of Bergen at the Tourist Information and Flojbanen. Overnight accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral or similar. Includes: (B).
Day 9: Bergen - Stavanger.Continue your journey down the Norwegian Coast by taking the express boat to Stavanger. You will be sailing pass islands and through narrow sounds on open stretches of sea and over fjords. Arrival in Stavanger in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free to relax as well as explore Stavanger on your own. A chance to explore Europe’s best-preserved wooden house city. In the old part, you will find a well-preserved wooden house settlement with 173 houses. Overnight accommodation at Rica Park Hotel or similar. Includes: (B).
Day 10: In Stavanger. Today enjoy a guided fjord sightseeing on the Lysefjord where you can also experience the famous rock formation Pulpit Rock. Overnight accommodation at Rica Park Hotel or similar. Includes: (B).
Day 11: Stavenger - Oslo. Early morning departure from Stavanger and travel by train to Oslo, the Norwegian capital. Your train journey will take you further south stopping in places like Kristiansand - Norway’s Floral Town. Overnight accommodation at Rica Grand Hotel or similar. Includes: (B).
Day 12: In Oslo. A full day to explore this exciting city situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. There are many things to see and experience - Vigeland Park with its impressive sculptures by Norwegian artist Gustaf Vigeland, Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Ski Jump Tower, Viking Ship Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum and many more.
