Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Antalya. Arrive in Antalya and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Antalya.
Day 2: Termessos and Antalya Museum. In the morning drive up Termessos with its the impressive ruins - including an amphitheater and a gymnasium, perched at an altitude of over 1000m up a mountainside. The mountain vistas from here are spectacular. Drive back to Antalya to visit Antalya Museum, which houses most of the findings of the Mediterranean coast. Then free afternoon to wander through the picturesque city of Antalya with its ancient Roman walled port, and the lovely "old town", Marina, with its beautifully restored Ottoman mansions and Hadrian's Gate. Kaleici (Marina) and the port abound with little cafes, restaurants and boutiques. Overnight in Antalya.
Day 3: Perge - Aspendos - Side - Manavgat Waterfalls. Departure in the morning and visit to Perge with its well preserved theater and stadium, the place where most of the statues that are on display in Antalya Museum were unearthed and then proceed to Aspendos that bears one of the best preserved Roman theaters in Anatolia. Lunch with a trout or anything else desired by the river. Side - a well-known classical site in Turkey, now a popular resort town - with Amphitheater and Temple of Apollo. Continue to Manavgat Waterfalls before returning to Antalya. Overnight in Antalya.
Day 4: Phaselis - Demre - Myra - Kekova boat trip - Kas. A drive along the spectacular Mediterranean Coast, with visits en route to Phaselis with its ruins and 3 harbors set amidst pine trees, Demre, with the Church of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) and its splendidly carved Lycian Rock Tombs dating back to 600 B.C. In the afternoon cruise to Kekova, a peaceful group of picturesque islands well scattered with very distinct rock sarcophagi and ancient houses submerged under the clear water. The cruise also includes the quaint village of Simena with its stone houses covered in bougainvillea, and the castle. Overnight in the charming seaside town of Kas.
Day 5: Kas - Patara - Xanthos - Dalyan cruise - Marmaris. Drive to Marmaris with visits to Patara, Xanthos and with cruise in the Dalyan Delta. The real highlight in Dalyan is to take a small craft through a maze of reeds in the Dalyan Delta. The delta, with a long, golden sandy beach at its mouth, is a nature-conversation area, and a refuge for large sea turtles and blue crabs. A stop will be made at Kaunos, which was an important city and port on the Mediterranean from 400 B.C. until the harbor silted up and the sea retreated 5km to the south. Drive on to Marmaris for overnight or board for your gullet cruise.
