Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Saint-Petersburg
Our tour manager will be waiting for you at 9.45AM in your hotel lobby to inform you about tour itinerary. After that you are welcomed by the Comprehensive City Tour of St.Petersburg - an excellent introduction to the second largest and most beautiful city in Russia. The imperial city of golden spires, golden domes, pastel palaces and picturesque canals.
During the tour you will see all the main highlights of St.Petersburg: the Winter Palace, Nevsky Prospect, the Cathedral of OurLadyu Kazan, the Admiralty, Palace Square, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Naval Museum, St. Petersburg University, the Menshikov Palace, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Bronze Horseman, the Alexandrinsky Theatre, Smolny Cathedral, the monument to Catherine the Great, Fine arts Square, the State Russian Museum, the church of Ressurection on Spilled Blood as well as the numerous canals and rivers, beautiful bridges crossing them.
Enjoy a small walking excursion on the cobblestones of the Peter & Paul's Fortress - the oldest and most historical construction of the city. Originally put up for fortification purposes but used as a political prison and witnessed more than once the dramatic changes in the Russian history. In the Fortress you visit - St.Peter and Paul Cathedral. It had for almost two centuries served as a burial-place for Russian emperors. The last Russian tsar - Nicholas II and his family were buried in the cathedral's small St. Catherine chapel in 1998.
Day 2: Saint-Petersburg. Peterhof or Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo).
Come and discover Peterhof - St.Petersburg's most famous and spectacular Imperial estate. Located on the sea shore The Great Palace and park complex of Peterhof with its unique array of fountains is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Peterhof is perhaps St. Petersburg's most famous and spectacular Imperial estate. The Grand Palace, filled with fascinating and elaborate interiors, sits on top of a high seashore ridge overlooking the vast Lower Park. The palace at Peterhof sits amidst an enormous park, adorned with fountains, statues and pavilions.
The estate's Lower Park lies between the Great Palace and the seashore and boasts the world's largest system of fountains, earning it the title the "Russian Versaille". The park's unique fountain system was designed in the 18th century and doesn't require the use of any pumps to operate the fountains. There are four major cascades and over 140 fountains in the park. The most impressive is the Grand Cascade featuring an impressive golden statue of Samson grasping the mighty jaws of the lion. The park's other cascades feature black and white chess board designs, Chinese dragons and numerous other features are definitely worth seeing!
Unlock the secrets of the world wonder - the Amber Room on a half-day tour to the magnificent baroque - style Palace of Catherine the Great in the town of Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo). Feel the spirit of the eras of the powerful empresses- Elizabeth and Catherine walking though the gilded amphelade of the numerous ballrooms and imperial halls, amazing with the luxury of their decoration. All Russian monarchs lived, worked, granted audiences, arranged diplomatic receptions for foreign ambassadors, gala balls and masquerades in the gorgeous halls of the palace.
The Catherine Palace enchants and delights everyone. Its azure facades amaze by grandiose sizes, they reflect the unique feature of the Russian national character - emotionality of perception. Both in the winter gray daylight and in the rays of infrequent Petersburg sun, the palace walls, full of expression and internal tension, as though emanate vivacious energy, charging the surroundings with it.
The evening begins in the Nikolayevsky Palace Restaurant where you discover traditional Russian dances and music during an elegant reception (buffet table with Russian vodka, red and black caviar included). We offer you to enjoy this enchanting festival of Russian spirit!
The magic continues with "Illuminations" tour along the spectacular floodlit monuments. Magical and magnificent by night, a drive through Saint-Petersburg and its beautiful illuminated buildings should not be missed by any visitor of the northern capital. This excursion combines a sightseeing drive to those landmarks of the city which are getting most fascinating when the night is getting on - the most gorgeous palaces and squares of Saint-Petersburg at night. In summer time you will have an opportunity to enjoy the romantics of the White Nights, observing the opening of the numerous drawbridges.
Day 3: Saint-Petersburg
Visit in the Russia's best gallery of world art - Saint-Petersburg's famed Hermitage Museum, one of the most prominent art museums in the world and definitely the main attraction of St.Petersburg. Nowadays, the Hermitage has about 2.7 million exhibits and is home to the breathtaking masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, unique collections of Rembrandt, Rubens, French Impressionists and hundreds of the greatest artists that ever lived.
The collection is huge and very exciting. The exquisite buildings of the Hermitage with magnificent galleries and rooms make themselves an excellent work of art.
Enjoy the relaxing Boat Trip "Rivers & Canals" sailing through the picturesque rivers and canals, viewing the city's main sights from the water. The looming silhouettes of the bridges, the grandeur of the waterways, the granite embankments with their various piers and slipways, the 18th and 19th century palaces and parks on the banks of the Neva and the canals, architectural landmarks in the form of the domes and spires of churches and cathedrals, visible from a long way off - all this contributes to the unique appearance of the "Venice of the North", one of the world's most beautiful cities.
