Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive at the International airport and transfer to hotel. Evening at Leisure. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Full day sight seeing of old and new Delhi
(A)Old Delhi - the 350-year-old walled city was built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital. Visit redfort, Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Raj Ghat is worth a visit where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.
(B) New Delhi - the new capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens.
An interesting drive in the one passing through the impressive Rajpath. World War I memorial arch, the India Gate towards the Presidential Palace. Visit Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD, Safdarjung’s Tomb, the Qutub Minar, 72m high and the most curious antique, Visit the uncorroded Iron Pillar, which dates back to the 4th century AD. Evening transfer hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Delhi - Agra (210Km – 4Hr)
After having breakfast at the hotel we leave to Agra early in the morning. On arrival explore the monumental heritage of the Great Mughals, including the magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men labored for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. It's a wealth of white marble and semi-precious stone - undoubtedly the highlight of the tour.
Post lunch tour of the imposing Agra Fort, built of red sandstone and marble is a hilltop citadel with fabulous courtyards, fountains and gates. Later we will also visit the Itmad-ud-daulah’s Tomb, more commonly referred to as the “baby Taj”, the first Mughal structure to be built entirely of white marble. Rest of the evening free to explore the local handicrafts and shopping centers of the city, where one can look for marble inlay work, fine quality carpets, Zari and embroidery, leather goods etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Agra/Jaipur Enroute Fatehpur Sikri (250Km – 05hr)
After breakfast Morning drive to the Pink City. Enroute we visit the evocative city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century, it is a veritable fairytale city built of red sandstone, and its "ruins" are in pristine condition. We arrive and check in to the hotel.
In the evening drive to visit cultural evening; here we visit Chokhi Dhani. An ethnic village resort, the vitality of Rajasthani folk culture comes alive as children dance rhythmically to the loud tenor of folk songs sung by men and women, festooned in bright clothes. Return from Chokhi Dhani and check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Jaipur-Delhi
After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Drive to visit the dramatic hilltop fortress at Amber, ascend the imposing fort on a painted elephant. We wander among glittering inlays and the Hall of Mirrors. We stop to view the elegant Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), this elaborate building, now little more than a façade, is encrusted with delicate screens and carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world.
Post lunch tour of the Maharajah’s City Palace, now partly a museum display a unique fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture, and house a rare collection of paintings, Rajput armory and costumesiH. Later we visit the unique Jantar Mantar Observatory, situated in the heart of the city where time has been accurately measured since the 17th century. Evening free to explore the colorful bazaars of Jaipur where one can shop for Jewelery, Paintings block prints, textiles, carpets, brass ware, blue pottery etc. Overnight stay at the hotel. End of our Services.
