Ascending the Kali Gandaki northwards, in the Annapurna region, one reaches the desert of “Lo”: a tongue of Nepal in Tibets territory.
Opened just 1992 at a closed number of visitors, the Mustang is inhabited by the people of Lo which has their origins in Tibet. The religion is the Tibetan Buddhism of the Sakyapa sect which is shown by the architecture used for the Gompas that are painted with the colors of the mountains with gray, white and yellow stripes.
