The Khumbu valley is inhabited by the sherpa people, proud mountaineers of Tibetan origin whose way of life teaches another kind of wellness we often don’t know.
This journey includes a trekking and the alpinistic ascent of the Island Peak (6189m). One can decide whether to make the ascent or not as the ascent requires only 2 days of which only one is the real ascent from camp 2 to the summit. To the base camp 2 every trekker can ascent without alpinistic equipment.
The trek is of a medium difficulty and can be made by every normal hiker who has the necessary spirit and enthusiasm for this kind of things. The ascent of the Island Peak is a classic alpine ascent with 1100m of elevation gain from the base camp to the summit, slopes of 40/45° on snow and a large and easy ridge that leads to the summit.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu.
Day 3: Flight Kathmandu – Lukla and start of trekking - Lukla - Pakding.
Day 4: Pakding - Namche Bazar.
Day 5: Namche Bazar.
Day 6: Namche Bazar - Tyangboche.
Day 7: Tyangboche - Pheriche.
Day 8: Pheriche - Lobuche .
Day 9: Rest day.
Day 10: Ascent Kala Pattar and return to Lobuche.
Day 11: Lobuche - Chuckung.
Day 12: Chukung - Island Peak Base camp.
Day 13: Island Peak Ascent and return.
Day 14: Riserve day.
Day 15: Island Peak Base Camp - Pangboche.
Day 16: Pangboche - Namche Bazar.
Day 17: Namche - Lukla.
Day 18: Flight Lukla - Kathmandu.
Day 19: Kathamdu.
Day 20: Departure.
