Join Journeys Directors Will Weber and Kishan Chetry in exploring a roadless area of remote northern Burma only recently opened to foreigners. You will have a chance to meet local people of many different ethnic backgrounds, visit their homes, observe cultural rituals and appreciate their daily life. Naturalists will have opportunities to observe, photograph and explore this rich habitat at the eastern end of the Himalayas, which holds many rare and unique species, including several mammals only recently identified by scientists.
On this trek, we will stay in simple local guest houses on several nights of the trip. In general, this area of Burma has few amenities, though we will have our cook and support staff to create a relatively comfortable, enjoyable and healthy expedition experience.
Expect spectacular views of high snowy mountains, expert leadership and an incomparably gratifying and personally involving experience in a remote, rugged and beautiful corner of Asia.
