Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: We meet you at Hosea Kutako International Airport just outside Windhoek. We do a tour of the city of Windhoek and have something to eat. By 15:00h we hit the "Great North Road" into Africa. Near the town of Outjo we make our camp for your very first experience of a campfire in the African bushveld. 420 km

Day 2: A lazy morning with a late breakfast. After breakfast we leave for Kamandjab and then we turn north on the C35 to Ruacana. Here we refuel and then down the amazing escarpment to the Kunene River with Angola on the other side. We follow the valley westwards till we reach the Kunene River Lodge where we make our camp under the beautiful indigenous trees. 443 km

Day 3: We follow the river a little further downstream to Swartbooisdrift and then drive inland in order to get around the beautiful Zebra Mountains. Then on to the Epupa Falls hidden away in the most northern point of Namibia. Around our campfire, we'll enjoy the mighty roar of the waterfalls and sleep peacefully under Makalani palm trees. 250 Km

Day 4: After a lazy morning with a late breakfast/early lunch; we make our way back to Okangwati in Kaokoland and on to the Himba dwelling of Tjiposa. Here we make our camp under the Leadwood trees and the rest of the afternoon and evening we partake in the activities of the traditional Himba people. 96 km

Day 5: Another lazy morning with a late breakfast in order for you to partake in the activities of the Himba family. At the major town in Kaokoland - Opuwo, we do some shopping and have something to eat. Then on through the majestic Joubertsberge and the "Valley of the Giants" where many giant baobab trees grows. Right on top of the mountains with a 360º view, we make our camp for the night. 186 km

Day 6: We now leave the Himba Highlands to drive down one of the steepest passes in Africa into the Namib Desert. By 16:00h we should be at our campsite near Twyfelfontein. It is not uncommon to have desert elephants feasting on the trees in the camp or giraffes peeking at our camp fire. This is a very hot area so we wait till late afternoon to visit the San Rock Art site - it also makes for better photography. The evening we spend around our campfire in the quite of the desert night. 274 km

Day 7: Up early for breakfast and we are on our way back towards Windhoek. We follow the Aba-Huab River in an easterly direction all the time looking for the elusive desert elephants. On the very edge of the Namib Desert we turn inland and drive via the town of Omaruru to Windhoek. We should be in town not later than 13:00h in time for you to catch your flight back to "civilization". 440 km.
