Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Johannesburg – Krugersdorp. Pick up at the Johannesburg International Airport or at your hotel. Tour departs for the Krugersdorp Game Reserve where you are booked in at the 3 star Ngonyama Lodge. During November/March the daily temperatures are high in South Africa and you may enjoy some time at the pool to cool off before dinner. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast the Ngonyama Lodge.
Day 2: Krugersdorp – Lesedi Broederstroom. After breakfast, take a morning game drive in the reserve. There are 28 species of mammals present as well as a lion enclosure. For the bird lovers, a stop at an aviary with local birds will be most enjoyable. Early afternoon we depart for the Lesedi Cultural Village to experience the drumbeat, singing and dancing of the local tribes. Traditional African food will be on the table and we overnight in rural huts on the premises, run by a local hotel group. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at the huts.
Day 3: Lesedi Broederstroom – Mount Sheba Nature Reserve, Pilgrim’s Rest. After breakfast, a tour of the impressive Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria This monument is dedicated to the early pioneers and their trek through the African wilderness. You might even enjoy a short ride on an ox wagon pulled by oxen. Shortly, tour departs the city for the province of Mpumalanga via a picturesque mountain route and overnight at the magnificent 4 star hotel, nestled in a natural forest. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Mount Sheba Hotel.
Day 4: Mount Sheba Nature Reserve - Hazyview. After departing the hotel, first stop an old mining town, now a living museum, called Pilgrim’s Rest. It reflects the old gold rush days. There after, the Panorama Route takes you through breathtaking views at God’s Window, The Pinnacle and the Three Rondavels. Also on the list of 'to visit' spots is Bourke’s Luck Potholes.
Bourke’s Luck Potholes is an unusual rock formations at the confluence of 2 rivers (the Blyde and Treur Rivers) where rapids and whirlpools occur. The erosion made by water on rocks through the ages is an amazing, picturesque site. Overnight is at a four star hotel bordering the Kruger National Park, with excellent dinner for the next two nights. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Rissington Inn.
Day 5: Kruger National Park. Enjoy a full day game drive in the Kruger National Park in search of the Big Five. An experience you will never forget! Lots of antelope and bush veld scenery awaits you. Return to your hotel. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Rissington Inn.
Day 6: Hazyview - Johannesburg. Travel back to Johannesburg for a drop off at Johannesburg Airport or your hotel.
