The beauty of the Italian Lake Region has attracted visitors since the time of the Roman Empire, inspiring poets, writers, and musicians with its idyllic landscape of peaceful lakes framed by steep, rugged granite mountains. This hiker's ramble combines exhilarating day hikes with a discovery of the picturesque charm and Mediterranean atmosphere of such lakeside towns as Gardone Riviera, Bellagio and Varenna. We will visit villas and gardens, which are landmarks of the cultural heritage of the area.
Our accommodations are in beautiful four-star hotels overlooking the water. All dinners will be at local restaurants where you can enjoy an array of traditional food from the area.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Meeting at Milan Malpensa airport and private transfer to Gardone Riviera, on Lake Garda, the largest of the Italian Lakes. Lunch in Gardone and afternoon guided tour of the Vittoriale.

Day 2: We start with a transfer to Magasa, in Alto Garda Natural Park and hike around the area. Transfer back to Gardone and dinner on your own.

Day 3: Transfer by boat to Malcesine and ride in the cable car to Tredespin. Hike to the summits of Cima Pozzette and Cima Valdritta.

Day 4: Transfer to Varenna, on Lake Como and lunch in local restaurant. 45-minute boat ride to Lenno and visit of Villa del Balbianello - return by boat to Varenna.

Day 5: Transfer by boat and van to Piano Rancio - hike to Monte San Primo. Descend to Ape del Borgo and return by van to Bellagio. Visit of the town or shopping on your own. Return to Varenna by boat.
