Our tour will take you from eternal Glacial to Tropical rain forest in one day. From a huge Andean Condor to a tiny humming bird, from pre – Inca to Spanish colonial and on to contemporary. We offer the opportunity to join a real "eco" tourist program to sustain the most needed Indian communities of the Upper Andes while they share with you the richest landscapes.
Quito, the Equatorial line, Cotopaxi National Park, Baños and the Sangay National park, Chimborazo National park with its Indian communities and the Otavalo of our forefathers.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Quito Transfer. Airport Assistance and transfer to the hotel accommodations with breakfast.
Day 2: Monumental Visit of Quito (8 hours – Snack en route). A Site lecture on Hispanic art of the first UNESCO cultural heritage site to admire Flemish school paintings, Spanish baroque style sculptures and monuments designed by the best masters of the Italian Renaissance – Baroque periods. Program includes Plaza del Teatro, San Agustín (1581) and the famous "Chapter Room" where independence was signed, Presidential palace, Independence Square, the Metropolitan Cathedral with the treasures of the Archbishop (1550).
The golden masterpiece of the baroque La Compañía (1605) holds Ecuador's best series of colonial paintings and relics like our lady saint Mariana de Jesus and the image of our Lady of the Sorrow which cried tears of blood in 1906. End up at San Francisco (1535), the biggest Latin America religious art museum and as contrast we end up the day at modern Capilla del Hombre, the bleeding heart of America and priority project for world culture (Sr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, General Secretary of UNESCO). Accommodations with breakfast.
Day 3: One thousand Hummingbirds and solar Them park with lunch. The Chocó cloud forest near Quito holds one of the highest diversities of the world not only in plants but also in birds. The farm of our ornithologist on duty holds much more than a thousand hummingbirds per day from 39 species, after a delicious trout, we head back to the "real" equator line to experience what is it about. Is is really possible to make one egg stand on a nail?
Day 4: Quito/ Cotopaxi National Park with Naturalist/ Banos. After an early departure we get into the Cotopaxi National Park. This is the habitat of the Andean Condor and the Ecuadorian Hill star hummingbirds. Various treks at different altitudes will give the opportunity to see unusual flora and fauna of the upper Andes and a final effort will take you up to the Snow line and Glacial at 4800m. Accommodations with breakfast and dinner.
Day 5: The Amazon rain forest, Sangay and Chimborazo National Park. The break point between the Andes and the Amazon is the ideal environment for Orchids and bromeliads. You can feel the volcanic creation all covered by waterfalls like the veil of for the bride. A breathtaking panorama from high up at Tungurahua, hikes in Rio Verde Falls and the Amazon are included. Afterwards we drive up to Chimborazo the biggest mountain on earth where we will be guests at a real pre-Columbian Indian community! Accommodations with CB and dinner.
Day 6: Chimborazo/ Quito. I think that Chimborazo and its Indian communities are the hidden treasure of the Andes. Imagine how far you can see from the biggest mountain in the world and closest point to the sun. If this is not enough we have the Purahá Indian nation sharing with us their secrets, customs and gods.
Day 7: Quito/ Cochasqui/ San Antonio/ Real Shaman Visit. In Cochasquí there are 15 mounds in the form of pyramid built of volcanic ash blocks. The pyramids are of different sizes and some possess an access ramp, furthermore exists an ethnographic Museum to investigate the cultural roots using the aboriginal wisdom and the nature of the sector. San Antonio is the woodcarving center where the heritage of the Quito school of arts is kept. Upon request, at night we can visit a real Shaman to recharge our energy with a spiritual experience or have dinner with an Indian Family. Accommodations at typical hacienda with lunch.

Otavalo is the biggest hand craft market in the Andes , but this is not just shopping is a gift for your eyes is an opportunity to interact with the Otavalo people, they are friendly and warm. After a gourmet lunch in Cotacachi, we will head back to Quito through Cayambe, the equatorial line and the Pilgrimage town of el Quinche where you will visit the most miraculous Madonna in South America, carved in the 17 th century by the Spanish Artist Diego de Robles who also received himself the first miracle of the "Lady".
