Journey through the Casablanca and Aconcagua Valleys, which region is home to fertile lands that gather some of the best wine brands of the country. In this colorful trip through the central valleys we will visit one of the most prestigious vineyards of the area and another more traditional vineyard that maintains till today its old production process and techniques. Some wine tasting and a visit to the vineyard grounds and buildings will help us learn a bit more of this important industry that has placed Chile on the finest wines of the World list. But not only does this land live of its wines, you can also find a variety of dishes and typical food that will delight your taste buds and awaken your appetite for Chilean Cuisine.
We depart from Santiago towards the Casablanca Valley located an hour northwest from Santiago where we’ll visit the Emiliana Vineyard. Here we’ll walk around the winery while the guide gives us a better insight in their wines produced in this valley and their production process. Our journey continues bordering the valley by the Orozco route that will leads us towards the inner country and to the next valley. The outside views will entertains us with lovely countryside sceneries filled with forests, prairies, artificial lagoons and small vineyards. The scenery soon changes as we cross through small towns that form part of the outskirts of the Valparaíso and Viña del Mar districts.
As soon as we arrive to the Limache district we’ll take a detour towards the El Sauce Ranch, a beautiful piece of land that possesses a rich variety of natural, cultural and gastronomical treasures; secrets that will be unveiled during the visit. During our visit to the ranch we’ll get to see the Sauce Winery. This winery run by the family owner of the ranch maintains the same production process used since their ancestors bought the ranch. This insight of smaller winery productions will help us understand and learn more about how smaller producers keep their traditions and processes. A delicious buffet of typical Chilean food attended by real Chilean huasos will be of great company during our lunch at the ranch.
Once we finish our tour around the ranch we’ll get on the bus again to continue our journey bordering the Campana National Park, Reserve of the biosphere that will seduce us with its beautiful sceneries of mountains and forests. As we continue our journey back to Santiago a glimpse through the window will help us imagine how Pedro de Valdivia use to cross the same route to get to the capital city of Chile.
