Desert Yoga combines the two spiritual traditions of pilgrimage and yoga into a unique walking journey. Daily yoga will enhance the experience of being in a profoundly beautiful desert environment of the MacDonnell Ranges. The yoga will complement the walking experience which will access sections of the extraordinary Larapinta Trail.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Saturday. Pick up at airport or your accommodation and check in to Alice Springs Resort. Visit Araluen Arts Center and the Namajira Gallery, ending the day with a final briefing.
Days 2 - 3: Sunday. Depart Alice Springs after morning yoga class on the Todd River. Transfer to Hamilton Downs Homestead for 2 day yoga workshop with daily walks, meditation and personal, contemplative time.
Day 4: Tuesday. Depart for an extraordinary segment of Section 3 of the Larapinta Trail into the back-end of the spectacular Standley Chasm. Transfer to a campsite on Aboriginal country, Angkerle Arrenge, with Jungala Kriss and spend the night around his campfire with family members.
Day 5: Wednesday. Day spent walking on Angkerle Arrenge with Jungala and family with focus on culture.
Day 6: Thursday. Early morning departure for Mount Sonder and Ormiston Pound - last night soiree around the fire.
Day 7: Friday. Break camp with session at Ochre Pits on return to Alice Springs.
Day 8: Saturday. Personal time in Alice before bus link to Alice Springs airport.
