Do you dream of a vacation, being taken care of you from the arrival to the departure and your biggest worry is whether you have little bit of extra space for the dessert? Here the whole family is together with the horses and nature. At Iskar Ranch, there are many possibilities to explore the big area either on horseback or in a horse cart. Experience the animal life at the closest touch or just relax on the dam’s coastline, while the kids amuse themselves in the calm water. Housing at Iskar Ranch is nice and cozy and the kitchen serves the delicious Bulgarian cuisine. A stay at Iskar Ranch is a real family vacation even if some family members are not enthusiastic about horse-riding, but are fonder of a photo safari or simply prefer walking.
The ranch:
Iskar Ranch is situated 60 km south of Sofia and spreads over 4000 ha with big open meadows, fields, a forest and a small lake. The nearest town is Samokov about 20 km from the ranch. You ride the whole week within the ranch. The ranch itself is like a big playing ground for riders - no cars, nearly no asphalt, lots of natural paths and plenty of nice horses. Enjoy yourself with big nature experiences in a large and wild riding world. It is just like riding your own horse.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Airport we will transfer you to Iskar Ranch. This is the place where you will spend the biggest part of your stay.
Days 2-7: The first morning the riding guide takes you to the stables and together you will choose your horse for the week. Usually you ride back to lodge for lunch and after a rest you go out riding on the territory of the ranch. On a normal day you ride 2-3 hours in the morning and 2-3 hours in the afternoon. You ride within the territory of the Iskar Ranch in coniferous and broad-leaved woods among numerous grazing flocks of Red deer, Fallow-deer, Roe deer, Wild boar (spotting it is a really amazing experience!). One day you might prefer to stay by the little private lake and have your lunch there. Another day you might wish to go photo hunting from a horse back. … All the riding tours could be combined with picnics in the woods, campfires etc. Just tell the guide your wish and it will become a reality! Other options are the visits to some places of interest in the shape of one-day trips. We recommend excursions to: Sofia, Rila Monastery or Borovets (please see information below).
Day 8: A farewell breakfast and saying goodbye to the horses and the guides will put the end of this journey. Transfer to Sofia or Plovdiv airport for departure.

We have a unique proposal, which gives you the opportunity to stay on a sea holiday for extra week after your active tour at an incredibly low price! We can offer a great variety of means of accommodation - from home stays to 4-star hotels in Sozopol, Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Lozenets, St. Vlas, Golden Sands etc. and all this with arranged transportation right after your tour and before your departure flight (prices vary between 100 and 400 Euro per person per week depending on the hotel category and the meal plan; transportation is included). * Connecting the tour: in summer time there are loads of opportunities to book a cheap flight to Bourgas or Varna Airport instead of landing at Sofia Airport. We can arrange for you a bus or train ticket to the starting point of the active tour with transfer to the central bus/railway station in these towns, picking you up at the airport upon arrival or vice versa at the end of your tour (this would only cost you appr. 20-30 Euro per car + the bus/train ticket price itself). For longer private transfers or rent a car services please check our offers from the menu “Rent-a-car and Transportation” Horses and saddling Iskar Ranch has more than 30 horses: East-Bulgarian half-breeds, Hanover and Arabic horses. They are well-trained, patient and calm. Saddling is Western and military type. Terrain: The area of Iskar Ranch is flat and low hilly, providing opportunities for both riding through woods and also for galloping on the meadows.
* Accommodation and food: The stay at Iskar Ranch is based on 7 nights with full board as per above. In one of the two lodges in the ranch 2 rooms share a bathroom, while in the other one all 4 double rooms have private facilities.
