The ride in the Balkan riding base provides extreme opportunities for family holidays. You can ride on your own or using our guides if you would like to explore the most hidden paths and places in the woods or among the green mountains nearby. There are quite many possibilities for rides or simple walks, making the choice to decide among them really hard but also exciting regarding the multitude of experiences they all offer! However the guides will help your choice in order to make your stay here as satisfying as possible!

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1. After welcoming you at Sofia Airport you will be transferred to Apriltsi at the foothills of the Balkan Mountains. This is the place where you will spend the biggest part of your stay.
Day 2-7. The whole package is based on stationary program with stay in the “Balkan” riding base and one-day trips towards different destinations.
Here are some examples of riding tours:
1. - 18 km: Sightseeing riding around the town. In its full length Apriltsi is more than 12 km long and between the quarters you have the best landscape for various riding and a scenery in front of you, you didn’t knew existing.
2. - 25 km: Over the hill top of Ostrets and Peperi – under the Black Peak (1500 m a.s.l.) to a small monastery. Lunch in the monastery garden. Back to the riding base ”Balkan ” through fields and meadows and along the river.
3. - 26 km: Up in the mountains to the highest placed bates for the wild in the area. You will ride in over 1100 m most of the day.
4. - 20 km: Riding over Vidima hut to the highest placed waterfall in Bulgaria “Praskaloto” (125 m), situated over 1350 m a.s.l.
Another possibility is to ride up to one of the mountain chalets and have an overnight. Sunrise and sunset high in the mountains could be an experience for a lifetime.
Except for riding it could be rather interesting to visit some cultural and historical places in the neighboring regions. These are the town of Troyan and Troyan Monastery, the open-air ethnographical museum of Etura by the town of Gabrovo, Veliko Turnovo (the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom), the architectural reserve Arbanasi etc.
Wildlife photo-hunting, cycling, mountain trekking, birdwatching – these are just a small part of the additional possibilities for recreation, provided by us upon request!

Day 8. In the morning farewell breakfast and saying goodbye to the horses and the guides will put the end of this journey. Then you will be transferred to Sofia Airport for departure.

This is a unique proposal, which gives you the opportunity to stay in Bulgaria for one week more at the incredibly low price! We can offer a great variety of means of accommodation - from home stays (no meals) to 2, 3 and 4-star hotels (BB or HB) on the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast:
- Sunny Beach - a big modern resort with hundreds of hotels, cafes, pubs, casinos, water-sports facilities etc.
- Nessebar, Sozopol - small towns (founded by the ancient Greeks) with picturesque Old Quarters and a specific atmosphere.
- Lozenets -a peaceful small village with a beautiful beach. Only 4-5 km from the forests of the Strandzha Mountains where you can go walking, biking or riding horses.
Terrain: The area of “Balkan” riding base is flat and low hilly, providing opportunities for both riding through woods and dirty roads and also for galloping along the meadows and pastures.
Accommodation: The ride in the “Balkan” ride base comprises 7 nights on FB. There you will have the possibility to follow the typical daily life in a small town, where the goats are still walking though the streets and the chickens live in the back yard. We have several possibilities: In our basic tour is included private accommodation. During the daily rides a picnic could be organized for lunch or you could bring a lunch package. An alternative to the private accommodation could be a room in one of the small hotel in town; some of them with swimming pool. And finally you can stay in the hunting lodge of Apriltsi. Here the accommodation is of top quality, but no swimming pool. All these various types of accommodation are depending on your wishes and we’ll arrange it exactly the way you want it to.
