The Laguna was discovered by Europeans in 1674 and connects to the Pacific Ocean through a small 6 by 9 miles entrance. We invite you to discover this wonder of the world on board of a high speed catamaran. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Balmaceda – Puerto Aisen/Puerto Chacabuco. Arrival to Balmaceda Airport. Reception at airport and private transfer to Puerto Chacabuco. During the drive: stops at the view point for photography and city tour of Coyhaique. Within 100 km the passengers will be traveling from the dry steppe (pampa) covered with bushy vegetation to the temperate coastal rainforest with magnificent evergreen forest. Lodging in Puerto Aisen: Hostal Puerto Viejo or in Puerto Chacabuco: Loberías del Sur. Day 2: Laguna San Rafael. If in Puerto Aisen: early departure toward Puerto Chacabuco to board the catamaran. 7:30 a.m. presentation at the dock - 8:00 a.m. catamaran departure. Full day navigation to Laguna San Rafael and zodiac boarding to approach floating icebergs. Return to Puerto Chacabuco. For passengers staying at Puerto Aisén: transfer from the hotel to the dock. Lodging in Puerto Aisen: Hostal Puerto Viejo or in Puerto Chacabuco: Loberías del Sur. Uncludes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: Puerto Aisén or Puerto Chacabuco – Balmaceda.
