Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Antananarivo-Fort-Dauphin
Meet and greet upon arrival. Transfer to Berenty Lodge situated 80 km south among litchis tree and sisal plantations to join the Berenty private reserve, one of the few places where one can watch lemurs at ease. Night visit of the reserve to see more night lemur species. Accomodation on full board basis at Berenty Lodge
Day 2: Berenty
Day visit of the reserve and its funny lemurs, among them the catta lemur and the sifaka; crocodiles, tortoises, spiny vegetation and the Antandroy culture and rites museum. The Antandroy tribe lives in this part of the country. Night on full board basis at Berenty Lodge
Day 3: Berenty-Fort Dauphin
Return to Fort Dauphin in the afternoon. Night on full board basis at La Croix du Sud hotel
Day 4: Fort Dauphin-Antananarivo
Fort-Dauphin is the opposite of Berenty as far as the climate is concerned for it is luxuriant year long. Transfer to Fort Dauphin Aiport in the afternoon to take the return flight to Antananarivo.
Transfer to the centre of town at Colbert hotel. Night on full board basis.
Day 5: Antananarivo-Périnet
Heading eastward on the highlands to join the Vakona forest lodge hotel. It is situated in the lush vegetation, part of the biggest rainforest of Madagascar. The hotel seems to be a real comfort after having crossed the forest. Visit of the private reserve of the hotel composed of a few isles which shelter different lemur species. One can also see fosa, crocodiles, tortoises, boas, parrots, chameleons, uroplatus etc. Night on full board basis at Vakona forest lodge
Day 6: Périnet
Day visit of Analamazaotra national park where one can watch the Indri-indris early in the morning, the biggest lemur species still alive. Night on Analamazaotra basis at Vakona forest lodge
Day 7: Périnet-Akanin’ny Nofy
Heading farther east to reach Manambato to take a motorized boat for Akanin’ny Nofy , literally ‘nest of dreams’. Visit of the ‘Palmarium’, the reserve nearby, ideal for lemur watching. Night on full board basis at Bush House hotel
Day 8: Akanin’ny Nofy-Sainte Marie
Transfer by motorized boat up the Pangalanes Canal to reach Tamatave. Transfer to Airport. Flight to Sainte-Marie. Upon arrival transfer to Princess Bora Lodge hotel. Night on full board basis
Day 9: Sainte-Marie
Sea outing at ‘Ilots sables’, a small island situated in the middle of Sainte-Marie, ideal for snorkelling. Later in the day, lunch at Baboo Village on Natto island. Return to hotel at dusk. Night on half board basis at Princess Bora Lodge hotel.
Day 10: Sainte-Marie
Sea excursion at La Crique also for snorkelling lovers. Lunch at the hotel. Return to hotel at dusk. Night on half board basis at Princess Bora Lodge hotel
Day 11: Sainte Marie-Antananarivo-
Transfer to Airport. Flight to Antananarivo. Connecting flight for your next destination.
